This particular point (tHE sCiENce) always seems like a particularly dumb one to me. Normally, when a field of scientific inquiry is completely overhauled, it's because of a landmark study. The research is groundbreaking, and usually results in some large award like a Nobel Prize. Think about DNA, the Dirac Equation, QED, the Curies' work on radiation. But all of these would be dwarfed by an earth-shattering study which overhauled what had been foundational to human society for thousands of years: that humans are sexually dimorphic creatures and that sex is an immutable characteristic. Where is John Money's Nobel? Where is this groudbreaking, meticulous, lauded research which revolutionized human biology?
