Apologies in advance for this Finnegan's Wake style spergout, but I feel like I've been unable to put my thoughts out there properly and I have time to kill.
@Burner of the East I disagree, Safronette and Big Scumfuck are retarded and their arguments were terrible. If there's anybody in this thread that's actually made a decent case on the vtuber thread's end it's @Zero Day Defense. Otherwise... yeah this whole thing has been a fruitless exercise. It reminds me of every time in which an atheist attempts to "debate" the existence of God with a Christian. It's literally impossible. In the mind of a religious person God requires no proof to exist and at the same time no atheist or agnostic in their right mind is going to accept the existence of God without solid proof and, due to the nature of God not needing proof, there is none. Every time this same argument arises it's always made by two parties of self-righteous faggots who are more interested in being seen as virtuous than they are in any noble crusade against the evils of religion/atheism. Not to mention it's a subject that's been argued many times before ad nauseum by smarter people and much like them, no matter how high your mensa test is you probably have jack and shit to contribute.
It's a similar thing here; in the mind of the loli enthusiast, loli isn't pedophilia and the proof is that actual pedophilia involves actual children and not this diddle-by-proxy bullshit. Meanwhile, in most people's minds it can't possibly not be pedophilia because it's obviously depicting fictional children in sexual situations. Mad as it sounds both of these arguments have merit; disgusting and creepy as it is loli/shota is a victimless crime because loli/shota is fictional. On the other end, loli stands for lolita, so yeah it's pretty fucking obvious. At the same time the only real argument that ever seems to be made against loli/shotacon is that despite not having an actual, physical victim it's offensive to our sensibilities and should be done away with which never has been a strong argument. Why is the assumption being made that being into vtubers means you're into loli? It isn't real, or at the very least it isn't a physical law, no matter how many faceless internet goons will reinforce that belief out of a pathological desire to fit in until the joke has completely lost its irony.

Well. I guess it can be summed up with one phrase.
"It is what it is."
It is guaranteed that we will never agree on some things on some level. Some just shrug it off and call it a day. Others yell into the void. Sometimes you get tiresome sperging about why it is the way it is. And sometimes it's just plain simple.
Picking on anime fans (and/or vtuber simps for this matter because more often than not they are adjacent) is picking on low hanging fruit. It's easy to make a fool out of your typical normie vtuber simp. All you need is to poke a stick to stir up the whole hivemind. No need for a grand entrance like a fleet of battleships or a squadron of bombers. Some push that meme because it's dumb fun. Others push the meme because of preconceived prejudices and ill faith. It's a mixed bag really.
But then it falls back to the same phrase. It is what it is.
Maybe it's just human nature that we naturally find some things agreeable or disagreeable on different levels of human standards. Can't entertain everyone. Can't appease everyone. Can't stop anyone from disagreeing or making fun of it either.

You've put together a much better post than some of the other people here and I commend you for giving out good examples from other threads. I can agree to disagree of course, but I still try my best to remain calm and civil throughout it. And considering the responses I got, it seems that people were way more out of line and unhinged. It was getting pretty weird when people were sending me some rather questionable images.

Man there's so many of all these kinds of vtubers that I can't even keep up with them. This Snuffy character is just doing stuff that's pretty tame compared to say what Twitch thots are "allowed" to get away with. There's a difference between just talking about kinks than just spreading your asshole or letting dogs sniff your cooch. It seems like the English speaking vtubers aren't not nearly as numerous or as the Japanese ones so they don't always rely on the anime aesthetic to gain viewership.
