Documentary I found on Amazon Prime recently. Who THE fuck, literally disputes the existence of dykes in the year of our lord 2022? Seriously, something like this would be more at home in the late 90s or early 2000s.

I honestly think it's exactly that. I finally had the opportunity to engage in some white flight and these fuckers I live around act like they just spotted a rare bird when a black person is in their vicinity.

I've had to observe and participate in microgression training, and honestly, it's infantilizing. Growing up in a white minority area I never understood the "noble savage" thing I was told about, but now that I'm here it's so bizarre how these people think that non-whites simultaneously can't take care of themselves, but are also more wise and closer to god and Truth.

It's a specific type of white person too, I've noticed. Always the ones who live insular lives, who have at least some money, and have their identities caught up in "helping". They're the ones who send their kids on "volunteering" trips to exotic places so they can dig a well or some shit and then write about it for their college admissions essay.
"Okay, Kaylynn, we're going to pay for you to visit the place from Encanto! Make sure you learn a lot from the noble natives!"

It's tamer than other stuff here, it's the context that annoys me. Inflation, crime, illegals everywhere, an absolutely FILTHY city? Nah, look at the rainbow lights we put in a metro station! We're sooo progressive guise! Santiasco priorities.

It's as if they haven't learned about the consequences of over-saturation when it comes to advocacy by witnessing what happened to other movements.

It's like feminism-- people were constantly bombarded with unwelcome feminism messages in the media until it pushed a great deal of them to be anti-feminist in every sense of the way. People who might've been okay with the movement initially were exposed to bizarre, vehemently misandrist and elitist fringes of feminism that made them cringe, and then they began to see it as an entirely negative movement.

Many women today who might agree with basic original tenets of feminism (like having the right to vote/own property) totally deny any association to feminism at all. It's like over-saturation creates a natural backlash. Then the movement collapses.

What's ironic is when pride claims to be "feminist", they make the spider senses alarm on many women.
If I read anything about "smashing the patriarchy", I inevitably imagine some self-obsessed narcissistic troon trying to promote "sex work is work!" or some ugly drag queen shaking his tits at toddlers.

If THAT is "smashing the patriarchy", please bring me MORE of the patriarchy. Pull my hair and spank me while you do it, too!

It was funny last year and I'm hoping they'll do it this year as well, they just take the L and change the pfp back of the meme about companies in June so they will just doubled down on it.

I can break character and PL on this a touch:
I’m Libyan, though if you ask me what race I am I’d say white, as would practically all of us Costal Berber people living in the west. We look Greek or Italian, so for most of my life I was pegged as such. When the ‘revolution’ started, and I’d actually talk about it to friends and coworkers people started treating me like I was some poor oppressed refugee fleeing tyranny (fucking lol) despite living half of my life between Europe and the US. It was actually pretty dehumanizing, especially considering the fact that up until that point I was just some other white dude with a funny name. Liberal do-gooders are insufferable.

Found out today that the language vocab learning app called Drops had some special pride month series of words you could learn in some of its more popular languages. Oh joy.

Though, what I will say is the language learning/polyglot community isn't super bad, especially when you get past the beginner level. There will be some obnoxious ones that will start learning, but then realize it takes effort and stop

Last 48 hours of fag month, so far in stores I've seen one Disney Pride display, a few rainbows in a tiny display at Joann, and some Oreos. In person it has totally passed by me as if it never happened. Feels good man.
It'll just be nice when the gross ads for Drag Trash get off an app I use for overriding my phone volume controls.
