No way, no fucking way. They finally found it!? This isn't scary at all.

This is surprisingly high quality for a taped lost episode from '76. Or maybe not and I'm just too zoomer to realize this was how shows and VHS tapes looked like back then

Maybe its a master tape or a copy sent to a another station? Seems way too clean to be a home recording.
It's either a very high quality recording or the master tape itself/copy of master tape. A lot of my recorded media from the early to late 90s has a lot of fuzziness over it, I imagine with time something from 20 years prior to that even wouldn't come out looking this good from a home recording considering VHS was a new concept back then, possible with proper preservation? Maybe. It also raises the question of where this tape even came from.

Yeah, no way someone home recorded it. I dont know how stations back then were able to play shows, was it via vhs tape or something else?

TL;DR different stations had different methods, and different countries sometimes used different methods based on what year it was, how much money the station had, and a few other factors. Usually it was VHS by the 70s but I am pretty sure Kinoscope was still a thing in the 70s for lower quality stations.

finally watched this
that sure was a thing
obviously threatening the black kid to turn him into a basketball comes out weird, but when he's telling the gang about it the whole thing's more like he's complaining about a crazy old racist gal saying crazy shit than being concerned about being turned into a baketball

I liked the simple way they handled Oscar just lurking in the background smitten with her

also Big Bird "on guard" outside duel-wielding a baseball bat and a hockey stick seems to strongly imply that his plan is to bash in her skull and beat her to death
