Just about any piece of legislation has a groups of people who are negatively and unfairly affected by it. Good arguments for abortion are tard babies, rape, incest, disproportionate threat to health of mother (and chilling effect on doctors). But there's a reason why for example the graun needs to dredge a case from fucking 2006 to make a list of five of the latter.

Down syndrome on the other hand affects about 1 of 1000 babies, which is a lot but "only" 4x times US maternal mortality. A woman in a no exceptions state who gets pregnant only has a 4x greater chance to have to burn some money and saunter to California to abort the tard than to fucking die. Of course I'd rather have exceptions, but even if there are none, a pro-family cultural shift will benefit women more than a state-level ban on timely tard disposal will hurt them.
