Affordable housing is also a government incentivized program. So land owners get some big breaks for creating affordable housing communities and they will literally build them anywhere they can.

Seriously, this shit happens in New York, Cali, Utah, Texas, and Seattle especially, but the Bible belt has their expansion as well. Louisiana is basically the end result of this.

Chuck Schumer (the current Senate Majority Leader) had the votes to codify Roe vs. Wade after this opinion leaked. Manchin, Murkowski, and Collins were all willing to vote aye on a bill that:
-Banned any restrictions on abortion during the first trimester
-Demanded "reasonable regulation" on any abortion access during the second trimester
-Required exceptions be made for the life and health of the mother during the third trimester.

Democrats could've saved Roe. It would have passed 52-48. Instead they voted on a bill that
-Legalized abortion access through all three trimesters
-Permitted sex-selective abortions
-And refused any religious exemption for doctors unwilling to perform the procedure.
And they lost 49-51.

They did so because they knew this would happen, because they want you upset at the Supreme Court and not them, because they had 50 years to fix this issue and preferred to dangle it like a shiny set of keys over your collective heads in a cynical means to get your vote.
And because you're more likely now to foolishly approve of them doing whatever naked power grabs against the Supreme Court that are likely forthcoming.

For the record I disagree with long term abortion unless the fetus is already dead. I am pro abortion in the earliest stages, as quickly as possible, with contraceptives and proper sex ed used. Genetic screenings, too. Maybe more family clinics as well as fertility/reproductive health clinics to benefit those who want children.

Abortion itself is not unconstitutional. The only change is that states banning it (in the absence of federal laws protecting it) has been found to be constitutional.
A federal law protecting abortion would kick off an entirely separate shitstorm - whether or not abortion law is subject to the 10th Amendment (that is - "is abortion actually a states rights issue?")
