Vshojo is a vtuber company and a legal entity and thus a vtuber org. They have $11 million in seed funding. They have stakeholders, they have lawyers, they have a CEO (Justin Ignacio) and CTO (Mowtendoo) and many employees. They buy ads and negotiate sponsorships. This is what vtuber orgs do. Just because management doesn't get involved in the content doesn't mean it's not a real company.

At least RushiNeko got the “official statement” she wanted (wording from Cover). Though the menhenra part is definitely still there.

My theory is that after the dragon quit, RushiNeko in a position that she think she’s too big to fall and became toxic toward other. Classical case of either die a hero (Kson dragon) or live long enough to become villain (RushiNeko)

Seems like a dick move. Either work with Rushia to put out a unified statement or say nothing. TBF Japanese leagalise is far beyond me but it also seems far beyond Japanese citizens considering shit shows like this. If Rushia did have a lawyer check the press release, crossing all my fingers here, this might become an interesting development. The closest comparison I can think of is trademark law where if you allow someone else to use your content you can lose your rights to it, is rumor law similar in Japan? Or is Cover having an Atlus moment?

My interpretation:
  1. It doesn't mean that Mikeneko lied.
  2. Mikeneko statement was just her side of story.
  3. What Mikeneko meant by "approved by her previous company" was that she allowed to tell her side of story publicly
  4. The "approved by her previous company" doesn't mean that her "previous company" agree with her side of story
  5. Cover statement specifically addressed "Cover made errors on their previous statement" AND "Cover admitted that they made mistakes on their previous statement", which is the interpretation of Mikeneko statement by some internet randos.
  6. Mikeneko claimed that there was some errors.
  7. Mikeneko never claimed that Cover admitted there was some errors.

Cover's statement doesn't contradict Mikeneko's statement.

Some people will shit on Mikeneko again regardless.
