I'm attempting to steel man the pro abortion argument. It's hard for me to do it do it but that's the best argument I can come up with the given facts other than outright stating murder is desirable in specific circumstances and abortion falls in one of those circumstances, which is a much more interesting and compelling argument than any I've heard from any pro choice believer or activist.

If a woman believes that abortion is the right to control what happens to her body, which many women do, then telling them they cannot abort a baby is telling them they do not have the choice to do with their body what they want. Hence you are forcing them to follow through with a birth.

What'll make it harder for the Dems to capitalize on this is the fact that they aren't able to discuss this issue without tying themselves into knots with bizarre Newspeak. "We demand equal rights for all uterus-carriers! The Republican judicial overreach is a threat to birthing bodies whose relationship to xir doctor is a private matter! Trans folx are being genocided right now..."

Cons have the extremely "dificult" task of explaining what the decision actually means but they are also gonna fuck that up. In all honestly it is just a race to see who fucks it up less.

To this and the post it responds to, nothing new under the sun. They have been that way for a very long time. And the best or rather worst part is think they are deep caring people, exactly the same as religious zealots with witch binding and the like. It seems once you take out old religion people will conjure new religions to create some sense of purpose and belonging...

Everyone acting like adoption isn't a thing anymore? Or that you can't drop a baby off at hospital or police dept. after having it?

This whole "I'm stuck with it" narrative is the most retarded thing ever.

Rapists shouldn't.

But when it comes to consensual pregnancy, I do think the men should have a say, but they ultimately can't have the final word as that would rob the woman of her autonomy.

In my ideal world if a woman wants an abortion the decision is ultimately hers but on the flip side if a man wanted an abortion but the woman was keeping it, he should be allowed to disassociate without being financially penalized; no child support or anything.

Women still get off easy because even if a man doesn't want to have a kid but she keeps it, it'll still fuck with the man that his kid's out in the world whereas if a woman aborts that's the end of it. But it's more fair than robbing women of choice or forcing men who didn't want children to pay for one.
