I was willing to compromise with limiting abortions after the first trimester. The SECOND should be in more serious situations. But, that wasn't enough. So, I'm basically arguing on principle.

I think a great majority of moderates would go for that compromise, although heart beat is also a VERY strong point for moderates.
With rape baby I think the idea is that it will cause unnecessary trauma to the women. Now she has to carry the rapist baby 9 months and give birth to her rapist baby, making a child for the rapist. That is pretty traumatic in my opinion. You just got raped and now you will be reminded for 9 months about that rape. For me it would be ok if rape victims can abort within the first 3 months, no need for more trauma.
Which dismantles the whole "transwomen are women" argument as men cannot give birth.
