I guess, to be fair, we are at that point where all the fans of Arin that are left are all people who enjoy his terrible attempts at guerrilla marketing. Just goes to show that nothing he makes has any appeal outside fans of Game Grumps. What's even the point of carrying on trying to market these books this way? I mean can you really see anyone outside of Game Grumps fans going "aw man, I picked up this book by a wacko named Cecil H.H. Mills or whatever the fuck from waterstones today it's epic". He could spend $0 by opening up his webcam, saying "hey guys, we have another book out" and it'd be just as effective

I don't think I've seen anyone besides those two turn to novelists because, as retarded as most let's players are, they at least know that's out of their range. Game Grumps only really does it because Arin insists on believing he's the president of an entertainment company, instead simply of owning a Youtube channel, and wants to tap into as many mediums as possible. For a channel that's not dormant or dead that's terrible. For reference a healthy view to sub ratio is supposed to be 14%. The Grump out channel is doing very well though they get well over 50% on their sub to view ratio there.

Yeah audience engagement has been tanking for years now. The only engagement they get anymore is from retarded fanboys who have been watching for years either out of habit or because they genuinely don't mind how unfunny and pandering the show is now. They'd probably have 10 million subs and a million views per video by now if they still had the audience reach they once had.

I have to wonder what percentage of the drop is due to the algorithm and what percentage is just people bored with let's plays. I mentioned in my earlier post the Grump out channel still gets great viewership on their videos. There is clearly a dedicated fanbase of people who still enjoy Arin and Danny as personalities. It might just be a decade of shitty let's plays burnt people out.

So out of curiosity I checked to see if this full playthrough included both the walkthrough rant and Oney's robot voice part. They still bitch about the walkthrough but at around 5:49:43 they cut the part where they just start calling out the author by name, so make of that what you will. At 9:06:00 they cut put Chris's part. I'm sure the lovelies will make up some bullshit like "it's so they don't get sued" or something like that but it is definitely just raw pettiness. I mean fuck, even some Oneyplays compilations include parts with Arin in them!
