Nope. As a Pagan I can tell you firsthand it was bongs. Gerald Gardner and his loony UK followers (Raymond Buckland, Doreen Valiente and that whole clique) were who started this horseshit. The Wiccan system is basically a glorified fetish club and we all know the political leanings of most of those types. Throw in a dash of New Age and horoscopes and you can take your circus over to the giant goldmine across the pond.

Those of us who quietly do the actual pre Christian religion in private cringe harder at this shit than any of you atheists do, believe me. We are perfectly content to be left alone altogether but these jackheads just don't quit giving us a bad name at every turn.

It is interesting how things like Wicca (or witchcraft) are usually associated with women, but if you dig deeper then you find men doing the groundwork.

Wicca was originally supposed to have Cernunnos be the chief god to reflect the traditional primacy of male sorcery in British paganism, but since it's just a modern reconstruction it got cucked later on and nobody had the traditional knowledge or cultural commitment to stop it.
