I’ve said it before but I do have a soft spot for Peanut. She’s shouty and always behind, disorganised and a bit quick to be offended, but I do feel she speaks both ‘her truth’ as in what she actually feels (not bending to suit the situation) and often simply THE truth.
Im always a bit sorry when I’m forced to listen to her when she wants GG on because his voice and his ‘ I’m very much trying to sound unbothered….whatever’ attitude rubs me up the wrong way. Often I don’t disagree with what he says, but he tries to come off as lackadaisical and above the mess, when, in fact it’s the opposite.
When they try and have a constructive debate it is often difficult to stick with because she’s shouting out as soon as any idea pops into her head,,,,,even if he’s in the middle of a sentence….which results in a constant, repeated round of
- Cliff: Blah Blah Bla…………(Cliff+Peanut together)
- Peanut: Blah, Blah, Bla…….
- Cliff: PISTACHIO, LET ME FINISH. PISTACHIO, LET ME FINISH, NO,NO,NO, BUT PISTACHIO……
- Cliff: Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah.
- Peanut: Blah, Bla……(Cliff+Peanut together)
- Cliff: But PISTACHIO, BUT PISTACHIO, BUT PISTACHIO, NO BUT PISTACHIO
- Peanut: Ok, sorry, go ahead.
- put on repeat.
Its not what they’re saying is bad or makes me want to leave…..but the constant interruption and subsequent rapid changing of subjects makes it hard to follow. And as they’re often not really listening to each other, every speech is a non sequitur. It’s like listening to my deaf mum and my dad hold a conversation. They’re saying random things and answering questions that weren’t asked.
