I’ve talked with many people who lived under Communism in China, Romania, East Germany, and the USSR who don’t think it was terrible.

Problem is, they knew that they were lucky and missed out on shit like the Great Purges/Holodomor/Cultural Revolution/Great Leap Forward/Khmer Rouge. They didn’t have a choice about what economy they were born into and lived their own lives, and didn’t sperg about how great communism was.
