That explains why last time I went to a Starbucks it was populated with employees who looked like they wanted to educate us all about the gender binary.

If I had stock in Starbucks I'd be selling. There's no way it's good business to have such an unequal benefit to other employers that you get a disproportionate number of employees who soak your insurers for $50-100k as soon as they've been in their $15/hour, 20 hour a week barista position for 6 months. If they're having surgery on the company dime after having only earned $15k or so, they're quadrupling (or more) their overall cost to the company. And then telling all their friends to do the same.

A male is going to be generally stronger than a female even if both weigh exactly the same. A fit man has more lean mass than a fit woman. To the tune of 6-13% body fat for male athletes, vs 14-20% for female athletes. Which means those denser male muscle fibers and bones get a free pass while the women competing with the guy have to carry a lot of effectively dead weight when it comes to high performance sporting activities.

There's a reason Venus and Serena Williams lost so horribly to Karsten Braasch, even though the guy was just a few pounds heavier than them, was a smoker, had played a round of golf earlier that day, and drank a couple beers before the matches.

I really do think there's a big element of body dysmorphia in all this that is mistaken for dysphoria. They end up with unrealistic transition goals.
