The million pity thing in the OP title caught my eye. A while back I fell into a rabbit hole with this community that basically had a lolcow monkey named Sweetpea. The comments section on Youtube was full of people saying "So pity!" I assumed it was some weird translation but it always stuck out because so many people said it. The comments people would leave about what awful things they wished would happen to Sweetpea were insane. If anyone wants to see some examples of people leaving nutty comments about monkeys without having to look for actual monkey torture, look up some Sweetpea videos.

On the surface it all does come off as pissed off south Asians feeling like they're vicariously getting revenge against a macaque that stole from their food stall. It's a very convenient shield.

Ooooh, great OP. I've got a few thoughts about this.

1. There's a monkey epidemic in Florida, and they're full of diseases. It would be wonderful to have them humanely disposed of since they are violent but this shit isn't humane.

2. I think the first time I encountered this whole thing was through Officer Paw Patrol on youtube. He's an animal control officer who debunks a lot of the fake rescue stuff as well as breaks down anything involving animals that might be suspicious. Cool dude, cool channel. I'm not sure if it was him who mentioned monkeys but I think it was because he went into the whole vore fetishists at one point, who seem to have a lot of cultural exchange with the monkey haters, the zoosadists, and the pedos.

3. A lot of the comments are heated because a lot of South Americans, Asians, and Africans hate monkeys and of course they have to post their room temperature IQ hate comments, but there are also some really fucked up people commenting as well. You can usually spot the difference based on their level of English.

4. I more recently discovered a channel that was making Shorts and other content on Youtube that was a mix between animals being violently killed by other animals, and mating/sexual videos paired with what I can only describe as "spa music" which had a lot of the same vibes...broken English, lotta out of pocket comments and the captions being all cute and sweet despite the graphic nature of the videos. If I find it again I'll post it but man was that fucked up.

I do like a good hunting video, tbh. I'm not afraid to admit I enjoy watching people hunt especially if they've got an animal assisting them or they're using a unique weapon. Blowguns, bow and arrow, spears, airsoft, etc. I also try to watch people that actually use what they hunt. Dunno what it is but I've learned quite a bit from those channels, and they're always incredibly respectful to the animals they kill.

It's such an intense contrast to these monkey hate type channels, who are clearly sadists. People love to shit on hunters especially if they're white men, but turn a blind eye to shit happening in third world countries. Crazy.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing this thread develop. I won't lie, I'd love to see some of these fuckers get doxed because fuck animal abusers and the people who enable them.

There was another one that popped up recently of monkeys torturing kittens by breaking the kittens' legs and throwing it off a roof. The comments were pretty sickening. Thanks for the OP.

The best I can do to rationalize this is to take an evolutionary biology approach. Tribalism is nothing new in humanity, and most people have instinctive reactions to those that they view as "others". These instinct stem from millions of years of evolutionary pressures that drive us to pass along our genetic material, and are generally a healthy thing. But it isn't beyond reason that these healthy behaviors that drive us to continue our species can become malformed and maladaptive, leading to antisocial behaviors.

My theory is that these monkey torture videos stem from this instinct: Monkeys are relatively close to humans in evolutionary terms, and some people view them as competitors at the species level. Cynomolgus monkeys in particular share many of the same habitats and regions as humans, exhibit human-like behaviors, and have in many ways "challenged" human hegemony in some places.

I suspect that, at an instinctual level, many people view a variety of monkeys including macaques as evolutionary competitors and as such are something to fight against. Most people rise above this instinct and view them as wildlife, similar to deer, elk, birds, etc. And then you have the usual pedophiles and zoosadist suspects that embed themselves in any community based on maladaptive behaviors.

Evolutionary instinct meets crippling autism and forms a man made horror beyond comprehension.

It's a clone of 0chan.pl, which in turn is a clone of 0chan.hk, with all three of them being Russian 8chan-like imageboards with user-serviceable subboards. The current admin just doesn't seem to care, even outside of /pity/ it's all full of markov chain generated spam and shitflinging among attentionwhores. Why did they choose .life instead of any other chan, no idea, but 0chan.pl had a bunker of Meguca wignats who migrated elsewhere after the Halle synagogue shooting attempt.

It's a long shot, but many of the comments are left by accounts with seemingly normal names and profile pictures, What are the chances that they are legit identities?

Of course there is no easy way to prove that they are not being impersonated, but there might be somebody that powerlevels just enough to confirm it. I wouldn't know where to begin though, there are so many videos with even more comments, and it seems like youtube has been getting rid of the most egregious comments as well (many of the comments I could find were from people outraged at the abuse or seemingly benign) which makes it harder to pin anything on anybody.

I was aware of the monkey torture videos from even before Metokur's video on the matter. He drew a strange conclusion from it and essentially boiled it down to "just trolling".
It became a plague on Youtube and after a while I thought it was the end of it, same as those weird Spiderman Elsa videos. Both were brought to light roughly at the same time and you don't see them half as much as you did back a few years ago... The Algorithm will show endless videos of Asian people and their pet monkeys, many of which are clearly not looking after them right, but you rarely stumble on a video that is blatantly torture.
At least that's what I thought...

Then some time later 'million pity' threads popped up on 4chan, due to the anonymous and chaotic nature of the boards it was impossible to know if this was truly some genuine hate or just an attempt to shock. I gathered it was the same sort of network that would make compilations of such shit on Youtube. I penned it down as "asians just hating monkeys" and I gathered that Westeners on 4chan may share the videos on threads with a sadistic sort of curiosity but damn... I had no idea that there rabbit hole went even deeper and there was a network that was actually paying people from South Asian shitholes to make this sort of shit. That didn't cross my mind at all.

The way Youtube ad revenue works it isn't too surprising that people from those poorer parts of the world are seeing ways to make some serious fucking money by posting endless hours of monkey videos, it attracts normies. But to hear about complete rejects throwing money at these third worlders to create these straight up torture videos, even trying to get monkeys of their own to torture? Fucked shit tbh.

As fucked as it is I can't help but be drawn to seeing its conclusion, it's part of the iceberg of the internet at this point... Maybe more of these guys will get doxed?
