General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I just realized that it's been five months since Cover and Anycolor released their EN male auditions. Wonder what's the hold up
Over 10,000 people applied for NijiEN, which is impressive as it could lead to a larger wave or even a bulk of talent prepped for the future. But also means they've had to watch A LOT of shit no doubt.

Cover's male auditions for HoloStars EN have been open as far back as November last year, they merely repromoted it to take advantage of the Niji EN interest.

Glad Ina is back in full force, missed her solo streams

Sauce

Also check out some more karaoke from Figaro, machine TL included. Just realized she has a google spreadsheet with all songs she sang since 2020 with stream links and time stamps (or rather made by her fans).

Go away for a month and now the Ontario hospital for clinical insanity i call Phase connect get a new gen the hell fish man
But Phase Connect is west coast.

My video submission's still unwatched and I submit it towards the end of March, so they're either still combing them, they skipped it because I don't have streamer credentials or they stopped once they found [x] talents for future use. Fair cop since I don't have live content production history, but I do have media/audio credits to my name otherwise and that's what I was banking on being a selling point.

interesting. it's cool if you don't want to share. as i guess it could be considered you're secret sauce.
what kind of content were you thinking of outputting with that background experience or rather what do you think would be possible? would it be similar to the content amelia produces?
or are the credits just the selling point and irrelevant to the actual streams you would try to produce?

i saw someone point out that the new holoEN twitter handle has holopro in it. perhaps, this means they are gearing up to introduce male talents with this?
of note is that the holo id twitter which almost exclusively focuses on id talents (all female) does not have the production part in its handle.
the official jp holo twitter - which also promotes holostars - does not have the production part in the handle, but it is present in the twitter name in katakana form

Tells us this, only to find out its a load of bull and he did actually get hired. Sells us this story to throw us off the trail. I'm onto you and I know your tricks. ;)

good luck mate! Hope you get in .

Mine is also unwatched and I've also work/worked within the multimedia space adjacent to social platforms like YouTube and consider myself to have relevant credentials like yourself. I genuinely believe that it's a mix of what you've said and in turn, management being pulled in various directions. Since the announcement for auditions, NijiEN management has had to help aid with it's first anniversary preparations, likely deal with talent hounding about Nijifest and other affiliated conventions taking place, preparing the Luxmales YouTube group channel and the various misc. nonsense we aren't aware off. This doesn't even touch the man-management they have to do, what with yabs and shady merch runs.

The link was posted before, but Watame's song was released. Sadly there aren't any English subtitles yet, but I'm sure she'll add them at some point or there'll be a fan sub uploaded somewhere.

You've got me thinking. Has any Holo talked about how Holomems go about getting translators (in-house or otherwise) for their individual projects? I'd suppose it's not free-for-all because more often than not, HoloJP original songs don't have CCs. I know the Shishiwata cooking song on Watame's channel went as far as having Russian CCs.

Edit: Chloe taking a break from Genociding gura fam to stream 3D
This time there's nothing in the video title or description that looks anything like what Sakamata wrote in that thumbnail lol.
The last time I brought up Sakamata's handwriting, there was some discussion about stroke order. It does matter, but not that much, so I then spent too much time thinking about it.

She doesn't seem to know what strokes or radicals are.

Radicals are parts of kanji. For example 花 and 草 both have 艹. See enough kanji and you'll figure out the distinct parts. If someone is rushed or lazy or writing with flippers the parts might get smashed together. But in her message at the end of the HoloX 3D stream:
1656761742922.png1656762130382.png
Resolution is low, but it looks like she drew the strokes I've marked in red as single lines without lifting her pen.

As someone who can't read or write Japanese I am totally 100% qualified to diagnose anime women on the Internet with dysgraphia.

...I'm just wondering how she survived.

@Nene's Husband

I hope that other Husbands don’t do this. Don’t leave Nene. Making Nene sad is a very bad thing to do. Thankfully you would never do this.

Also on an non-nene note:
HoloX Sleepover Off-Collab when
There was someone here who said Iroha didn't have enough clips (and I agree). The channel for the second clip is majority Iroha and Ayame, so you have my thanks.

In November it was more like "Well yes, but actually no" as revealed by the interview given by HoloEN management later that year. The auditions opened for men this year when the relevant video saying so was uploaded on the HoloStars channel and the HoloStars website had an english page dedicated to auditioning. I would recommend everyone interested here to retry. My rrat is that either Cover isn't really interested in HoloStarsEN, or that they haven't found someone that interests them.

Probably didn't get to it, mine has a view and I submitted in the middle. Realistically, as long as you have content at all you're fine. The last steps is a test stream/performance check so regardless you'd get a "streaming cred" passed by them in the audition process.

New metall cover from Zephyrianna .
And afterparty stream now

Shortly before that, her friend's cover had premiered.

Ada good singer but with mostly "normie" musical taste. But when she is doing karaoke streams on her twitch she sing pretty good rock and punk songs time to time.

upd for more 2views indie ^_^
Nana Asteria One hand clapping stream. And she mentioned about opening subscriptions and superchats soon.

A shame, but not too surprising.

For those who don't know, Mayuyu was very big on his character lore, and his 'story' actually finished around last year at the same time he announced a 1-2 month hiatus to work on his chronic depression. He nearly graduated there and then.

It seems that when he came back, the company reached out to him about his plans and he realised the fire in him was gone. If not for AC trying to find compromises with his activity and working to keep him I think he would've left even sooner.

My guess is he's a stressed and depressed dude who wants the corporate pressure off his back, which is fair enough.

or he probably wants to troon out further because his Vtuber self doesn't fit with his identity?
Gender is X-gender (MtF), the body is male and the mind is female. MtF is an abbreviation for Male to Female.

It wouldn't work all that well in a live stream without some more equipment to prepare stuff in advance, but for an example of what I could do with it: If you've seen that one tier list video Selen did that degenerated into Luca concocting a suspense thriller about Nijisanji surviving on an island, I could turn it into a full on audio drama so long as everyone's got time to workshop a script they all agree with and give me their recorded lines, without needing to rely entirely on stock audio to provide sound effects and background.

I wouldn't be talking about it at all if I were actively up for consideration. If anything I would purge all mention of anything tangentially identifiable just to be sure. If one day all my posts vanish, that's the sign.

They've definitely had a lot on their plate, that's for sure. I just either want a direct rejection notification or news of the next wave(s) confirmation so I can just get on with what feels like a waiting period. I've been sitting on some changes I'd need to make in order to do streaming and if it's not happening in the immediate future, I've got other shit I'd like to get instead.

Mine was put in the last week of March. I don't really have any content with my account name tied to it, I've been on streams before but I can't really go using other people's content to prove myself, so I'm kind of entirely banking on professional history to be intriguing enough to warrant a call, and my ability to speak and perform to sell me as a candidate.

Translations of his Twitter mentioned that him and AC had creative differences and even though Anycolor tried to reach a consensus many times up until February, he didn't feel satisfied with anything, plus he felt like he'd be half-assing it, which would be disrespectful to his peers and fans. I don't know moonrunes though, so maybe @Scuttle is basing his version from the stream, where he could actually explain it better. His YT will stay up after graduation, but some of the vids may go private.

Really unfortunate, since he was a super rare case of a Vtuber who gave a shit about his lore for more than 24 hours after debut. People mention Salome playing a character, but Mayuzumi's been doing that too, and as for how that turned out, even though he's disabled SCs, he still made enough from memberships and merch/voice packs to make big donations to orphanages, or have his lore appear all over Shibuya.

We can only theorize what happened or what's going on in his head, and god fucking knows some people will probably pull the equivalent of Baz shilling Norf FC, but it probably wouldn't be too far of a reach to suggest that he told the story he wanted to, and felt like it was his time.
