General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

In other words, this doesn't force Holo or Niji to do anything. Cover has had a string of successes while Anycolor can be pleased with the likes of Salome and Luxiem. That two vtubers who aren't under either agency are also successful doesn't change anything. VShojo's top EN talents almost certainly out-earn most of HoloEN and NijiEN on an individual basis but that hasn't forced HoloEN or NijiEN to adopt looser management, switch to Twitch, or whatever.
Each company panders to a different fanbase with different tastes. As long as they have their respectives markets and doing well on it, there is almost nothing to change.
Huh? I thought the only good one was Ironmouse. Aside from her, the rest is just cancer.
Some consider Melody, but after the RvW sperg not anymore, for me the fanbase turned cancer after the Digitrevx fiasco.

Did not the only one that got super political was Zen when the boomers went into the capitol? i dont remember the rest being super into it
He sperged in two tweets that he soon deleted because he is a looney fucking freak. People are vastly overblowing the 'Vshojo' reputation for politsperging. Yes it happens, but one has to set their own tolerance for how frequently you can take it. Vshojo are not a monolith. As an example, Melody has not yet reached my tolerance limit, so I still watch her. For reference, she sent one tweet regarding RvW and I most likely disagree with her opinion on the matter. It's that simple, for me at least. She has refrained from allowing most of her political opinions to be expressed, and I appreciate that.

I most certainly do not hate Kson for joining Vshojo, because why would I turn into a deranged anti just because she's going to a certain company? I'm surprised I saw that take outside of /vt/. That's some real zhang level reasoning. I have appreciated everything she was able to accomplish as Coco, and I have enjoyed a few of her chill gunpla and chat streams when she has them occasionally in English. Whatever she does later won't ruin my memory of what she did before, even if she turns into whatever my idea of the worst streamer ever is. If you currently enjoy watching her a lot, I can understand your concern for the future, but why not express that in a more measured way and then just wait and see? If you have to, use the time to prepare to jump ship when/if it turns out your fear was justified.

given how deep he's in with... Nyanners
That's pretty lewd.

I think Melody is largely a good egg despite her being a literal camwhore. I'd take her and Mouse over the rest of them and it's not even close.

Oh how i rejoice in this day, i wasn't really expecting it but it really checks out given the circumstances. the tribalfags are so salty i could cure meat for days. :story: Those two are a HUGE addition to their roster,
If they could somehow get Miori in board they could become a fucking powerhouse in my opinion, she's actually good and quite in line with i think they're going for.

Ironmouse is good, Melody can be okay, while the rest fall somewhere within the range of boring and completely insufferable.

Some of the boring ones are easy to forget about too. I'm sure you could ask people to name the EN Vshojo lineup, and a couple would just be consistently forgotten.

I keep forgetting Froot and Silvervale tbh.. so rarely talked about, and I've curated my recommendations to not give me any Vshojo content outside of Ironmouse (occasionally the odd Nyanners or Melody vid comes up but I just hit no interested + do not recommend channel), so I have close to zero exposure to their lunacy and haram acts.

Nyanners, Melody, Zen, Vei get mentioned enough I sometimes think they live rent free in some heads. Oh and Hime but that's cause she's that one meme of being a Vtuber but never Vtubes.
EDIT: that one person going off on how the VDF is here, must be so blinded by their own autism about this to not see the posts that are literaly seething and dilating with em at this :story:

Also, good good, those Towa posts. TMT is pleased

I don’t have any real issues with Vshojo, but the only clips and such I ever see is of Ironmouse, Nyanners, and Melody
Silver runs her own clips and they are uploaded pretty frequently, they often get suprisingly little amount of views though (compared to other clips, atleast), and the ones that do are midly coombaiting or announcements

Honestly, if they let Kson run their JP branch, it might actually be decent. Doesn't Kson actually have some background in management? She might actually be able to teach Gunrun some things.
On a related note, it's worth mentioning that Kson's manager also joined the JP staff (tweet) - I think she did a good job behind the scenes & is definitely someone that Kson trusts. Probably not enough to change anyone's minds on VShojo as a whole but I think there's a decent chance that the JP branch will turn out alright.

The other voice in the lore video was almost certainly Rushia, can't wait to see how they navigate that minefield :story: but for real, if it turns out to be a positive move for her then I can't complain. The biggest issue will be moving her existing audience over to Twitch (or even if I'm just completely rrat-brained, I still think it's pretty rough starting out as a JP Vtuber on Twitch vs on YT)

I think my biggest takeaway from the day all the company drama aside.

It's just nice to see, a year after her graduation from Hololive, Kson walking onto an American stage in person to loud cheers from a crowd of her oversea fans. Ask any content creator and they'll tell you that convention appearances and the like when they get to physically see the fans rather than just numbers and text on a screen that it's an eye opening and rewarding moment for them. And I'm just glad Kson got that from Anime Expo this year in part thanks to Vshojo organizing the event.

Making 100 Grand per month (confirmed by herself), getting an amazing Live2D of the highest quality and debuting with a 3D concert before Irys could. What more did you expect?
That's not her manking some content, the live2D is just paying and the 3D debut she got at the same time ,or after, a lot of indies did? Like she did default vtuber things, I expected more because she give the excuse of creative freedom and when she got it she did things that she was already doing.

Huh Kson joined Vshojo as their head star on their JP branch will we see a three-way battle between the three largest Vtuber corpos in both the EN scene and JP scene?
Probably not. Vshojo is facing an uphill battle even with Kson as Kson hasn't done super remarkle as an indie. She does decent just not spectacular like when she was with Hololive. Vshojo is currently equivalent in popularity as NijiEN maybe a bit more but HoloEN is still a big hurdle. I think Ironmouse is currently the equivalent of Ina in terms of live views, Gura is still a monster.
