Being self-employed is generally better tax wise (though in Japan you do get screwed a bit on health insurance). If you're a citizen of Eritrea or the US working abroad then it can be a problem (there's some tax credit for foreign earned income that doesn't apply). But also even corporate vtubers are generally independent contractors (see Calli's recent videos), so what difference would there be between that and full indie?

I'm not sure if I heard it here or from her dedicated split thread in 4chan but she supposedly got fleeced when attempting to make her own merch. People underestimate how hard the behind the scenes work really is. She may have unfortunately made that exact mistake after leaving cover and decided that joining VShoujo would be better than trying to handle everything on her own. I do hope however that her contract is structured differently since VShoujo's split is different from Cover's since VS allows the streamer to keep all of their profits from streams but in return they take a waaay bigger bite from merch sales, something like 80% if the VShoujo threads are to be believed which is crazy to me especially knowing how profitable merchandising can be. There is one thing I do worry about although it might just be me being paranoid. Objectively speaking, Kson kinda failed with her move to being an indie since she not only lost a good chunk of her audience but her revenue from SC's as well. I wish her the best and Mikeneko too but if those two fail, I'm afraid that the other holo's might take it as confirmation that leaving Hololive is a bad idea and management might get even more leeway to bonk any dissent from the girls which is the last thing I want. The thought of some jackass manager telling Marine or Lamy to "do as your told or else you'll be gone and turn into Kson" fucking sickens me.

Sounds like a good time to do an indie report

Clear is still going strong despite losing 3D models because v-katsu is shutting down. She has a flash merch sale that I missed and I am sad, but is creating a new 3D
- She covers rocket launches and is quite genki - JP only but many streams are of English rocket livestreams
- Recently put out two covers: DIVE, DEAD END​

Ririsya music is still going strong, she dropped out of my rec. so I am catching up
- Fantastic singer and someone who Nolan might actually like. Also, talks slowly and has dedicated translators, some EN

Rei Tadano achieved her stretch goal so now she will have be on a billboard in Shinjuku for a week (very cool campaign that was not entirely $ focused)
- Genki streamer that is creative and tries lots and lots of things - JP and ENish
-Personally, I like her large project where she interviews streams from each 47 prefectures in Japan - Hokkaido (where I'll go if Beatani never comes back)​

As a numberfag there is no way vshojoJP can challenge either Hololive and Niji. KSON and NotRushia is not on the same level of viewership as Peko, Miko, Marine and any top holo or the Kuzuha, chinman and salome. They do get a lot of SC though.

Only that there have been new developments since my last post. Newer steps have required steganography decoder techniques which implies that, whatever she's doing and wherever it leads to, she's put a lot of work into it. Because of this, though, I don't want to provide step solutions because it's clear she's worked hard and wants people to engage.

The whole thing is rife with references to Rosemi's favourite things, such as the company twitter account saying 'Happy Big Friday!' which is an Avoiding The Puddle reference, or the CEO of Angel Katrina's idol agency being called James Bosodvis (Bosovdis, Jim: 'Boss of this gym') referring to that gay porn scene.


Also, Salome secures her second sponsorship, this time with iM@S.

I think her streamer voice is very close to her real voice, but im just basing it on ASMR from years back.
The voices here sound a little lower, not as squeaky, but still comfy.
It also doesnt sound as low/forced as the Ara ara voice she uses for batsu

But then again, this is based from asmr from years ago, so there are factors that might come in like
- change in pitch due to aging
- change in sound due to her mic/set-up
- asmr goes for soft-spoken/whispering which may sound way different from normal speaking voice.
- voice acting a script might make one self-conscious of voice projection
