David Bixenspan is a freelance writer and podcaster who primarily writes about pro-wrestling but has also covered other topics such as politics. Bixenspan is from Long Beach, New York. He is Jewish.
Bixenspan is a man with one mission, try to take down as many wrestlers and wrestling personalities as possible. Bixenspan dreams of one day being the hero who takes down the biggest wrestling company in the world right from his computer screen. Thus, most of Bixenspan’s articles consist of covering any possible controversy of the WWE or the people it employs.

Of course, the wrestling business has had its fair share of controversies that are worth pointing out. However, Bixenspan mixes in these actual controversies with some awful attempts at smearing wrestlers and the companies they work for.
Nobody is safe from Bixenspan. Unless you’re his friend but we’ll get to that later. On Twitter, Bix loves to kick the hornet’s nest. He tries to find any controversy big or small, true or false, to tweet about in the hopes it goes viral, and someone pays the price. He is terminally online and always hungry for controversy. This has led to some hilarious smear attempts.
Bixenspan’s Lame Smear Attempts
In late 2017, after WWE wrestler AJ Styles took to twitter to give some words of encouragement to a kid that was being bullied in school, David Bixenspan quote tweeted Styles accusing him of saying the word faggot a lot.
Bix implies WWE is racist for giving black wrestlers stereotypical names, despite the wrestlers typically picking names themselves.
In 2018, wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer received some criticism for comments about female wrestler Peyton Royce. For context, Meltzer made a comment about how female wrestler Peyton Royce gained some weight when she was promoted to the main roster. This was a poorly worded attempt at him saying she got a boob job. Regardless, the wrestling world freaked out over this "body shaming" comment. Many wrestling figures came to the defense of Royce including WWE producer and former wrestler Fit Finlay. Note the insult Finlay used towards the Jewish Dave Meltzer.
Bix took issue with Finlay’s comments and claimed he was being Anti-Semitic towards Meltzer.

Bix’s reasoning was that “parasite” is “not a common insult” and Finlay has spent some of his wrestling career in Germany. He also has a screenshot this heinous exchange of Finlay interacting with someone who made a Jewish joke as proof he was being Anti-Semitic.
During the summer of 2020, WWE debuted a masked group called Retribution. They were being set up as a heel faction that would randomly disrupt matches and the show.
It was a basic heel setup; however, given the fact that this was happening during the summer of BLM, Bixenspan thought that this was WWE’s way of slandering the protests. People would try to tell Bix he’s reading into it too deeply but, he’s not convinced.

In a now deleted tweet (no archive found), David Bixenspan got mad at the account for WrestlingINC.com for commenting "LMAO" when AEW wrestler Max Caster made a reference to Amber Heard in one of rapping promos. This was shortly after the verdict was delivered on the case between her and Johnny Depp.

In a reply chain with a twitter user, he revealed his anger at this was due to the fear that comments like this will roll back the progress made by #MeToo. Lots of professional "fuck you's" thrown in here by a very professional journalist.Tried to convince the female workers of WWE to leave and speak out about any time they felt uncomfortable working there. A true savior for all women.
Being a Hypocrite
David Bixenspan presents himself as someone who calls out every wrongdoing in wrestling. However, he’s accused of having biases. It’s known that Bixenspan has many “friends” and people he wants to be friends within the wrestling business. Because of this, Bix will stay quiet on some issues. The subreddit r/squardcircle has even called him out for his biased reporting. You can also find Bix replying to his critics in the reddit thread under the username u/davidbixagain.
The post goes over how Bixenspan loves to wage war on wrestlers who've been accused of sexual assault, but will ignore the accusations if the wrestlers work for promotions he likes. In particular, the post mentions GCW and how Bix hasn't mentioned the accusations against at least a couple of wrestlers there. Here is a tweet that makes the same criticism, featuring a reply from Bix.
I know this kind of stuff is hard to prove, but here's an example of criticism receives. Bix will take the time constantly remind people when WWE uses a wrestler that has been vaguely accused of sexual harassment.
For context, Bix is referencing WWE wrestlers Riddle, Theory, and Brock Lesnar. Even though Theory was proven innocent, Riddle has said his accuser was a crazy stalker, and none of the wrestlers were charged with anything, Bix still likes to bring this stuff up to stir the pot. People have criticized Bix for not bringing this up with other wrestler he likes.
Now, Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin have not been charged either (there is audio of Sammy saying he wanted to rape female wrestler Sasha Banks), it's hypocritical of Bix to only talk about the WWE guys, and not wrestlers that work for companies he likes.
Taking Covid Money
It’s obvious Bix doesn’t make a lot of money trying to sell articles about wrestling. It’s all he knows as he has never held a real job before (claim made by Brian Last in next section). Proof that he doesn’t make a lot of money lies in the fact that it was discovered last year that Bix took out a $7,000+ loan. This loan he took out was intended for small businesses impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
While technically, Bix does run a “small business” and could make the claim his work was impacted, big pro-wrestling companies like WWE or AEW were still going through the pandemic. It is quite the stretch to say Bix’s work was impacted as a result. Below is a site where you can see info on the loan Bix took in 2021.
Brian Last’s Rant on Bixenspan
If you want an audio version telling you about what makes Bixenspan a Lolcow, Brian Last once went on a 25 minute+ rant about David Bixenspan on the Jim Cornette podcast. Last is a wrestling podcaster who worked with Bixenspan in the past on various podcasts and grew up in the same town as him. Here is the timestamped YouTube link of Last telling the story of his partnership with Davd Bixenspan, along with an MP3 of the 27+ minute section where Last and Jim Cornette talk about Bixenspan.
For those that don't want to listen, here's a summary of some of the important information shared by Brian Last.
- David Bixenspan is in his mid-30s and cannot drive a car
- Brian Last used to do a wrestling podcast with Bixenspan. Last claims lots of people hated Bixenspan's pressence on the show and they almost never gave the show a chance becuase of him.
- Brian talked with Cornette about co-hosting a podcast with him. Last wanted to bring Bix as a producer. Bix assumed he would co-host with Cornette instead.
- Despite being a little upset at not being the co-host, he agreed to be a producer.
- Bix did not want to be credited though. Likely because he was planning to ditch Colt Cabana's podcast with him to produce Cornette's show.
- Bix would constantly annoy Last and Cornette with gossip right before they were set to record the show.
- Bix would divert the money for his and Last's podcast to his personal account. His excuse was that he needed the money more than Last. Later he claimed to be joking.
- Bix would make threats to pull shows down and refuse to edit episodes (his only job after a while)
- After some deliberation, Last ended his partnership with Bixenspan on their podcast. He kept him on the Cornette show and brought him in for special apperances. Despite this, Bix was not happy.
- At the time of the rant in late 2020, Bixenspan has made over 200,000 tweets.
- Bixenspan would smear Last and Cornette when they make fun of his friends like Joey Janela.
- Bix has Last and Cornette blocked on twitter so he can talk shit behind their back.
- Last would lend video tapes to Bix to do commentary. Despite Last's request, Bix never credited him for lending the tapes.
- Last finishes calling out Bix for stirring the pot, being a hypocrite, and a coward.
Also in the podcast, Last tells a story about how he stopped by Bix's house one day with his girlfriend. Bix was talking to Last in the drivers seat through the passenger window where Last's girlfriend was seated. While talking to Last, Bixenspan started to drool all over Last's girlfriend without noticing or apologizing. Bix tried to deny this when it was brought up in a reddit comment on the previously shared post criticizing his journalism.

Conclusion
David Bixenspan is a controversial figure among wrestling fans. He doesn't investigate stories, he manufactures them. He tries to get a rise out people and get people in the wrestling business to lose their jobs if they do something he doesn't like. As far as anyone knows, he does not have the credentials to be considered and actual journalist, yet he managed to grift his way into selling articles for various sites who don't care about pro-wrestling. Even then, he doesn't seem to get a lot of money anyways, hence why he has to scheme his way into stealing covid relief money from people who do actual work. Bix is nothing more than a nerd in front of a computer screen, tweeting about wrestling because that's all he can do. Hopefully, he realizes the error of his tactics, but that will only happen when people stop thinking he's a credible journalist.
