This, exactly. He's 24. I suppose I could understand if he were 40 and not happy he was single, because at that point his friends would likely be married and with children. Side note, does he have friends?

But this obsession is just weird and off-putting. I feel bad; he's clearly lonely and of course he is. He gets no attention from his family because he's not their money maker. But how does he not know that his personality is the reason he's not getting any interest?
