Respect is pleasant but irrelevant to a discussion, and especially unrealistic when both parties have vastly different opinions and hold no reason to genuinely respect one another. Still, discussions on divisive topics have occurred throughout all of history. How, you may ask, can such a feat hold true? Because the men and women who built everything you know were not children who only engaged others who "respected" them. Grow up.

I don't get this. Have you ever interacted with women? I'm not exactly chad, but even my awkward ass knows a bunch of women with hobbies beyond shopping and makeup, and I'm talking serious hobbies not pretending to get male attention. A lot of them do tend towards traditional feminine skills, but still, they are hobbies. Mrs. kartofel is into crochet, cross-stitching, and drawing. My sister is fond of shopping, but uses that knowledge to run a consignment store. When I was in school, I was part of the archery club, and about 2/3 of the members were girls. They were into archery(obviously), but a lot of them were also into larping and medieval reenacting. They did things like make reproduction medieval outfits, made their own jewelry, and some of them went so far as to make their own bows and arrows.

I agree that women should have self esteem, the sad truth is there are a lot of young women out there whose view of their value and potential isn't much different than a lot of the incel tranny sorts.

That said I kind of think what you're saying is in large part the issue.

If one says all women are great, then how are the ones who work hard, become healthy, well read, etc. supposed to stand out? Their gender overrides all of that, and puts them on equal footing with shitty incompetent irresponsible women.

Maybe it is internalized misogyny, but my guess is that's brought about by the fact that they don't feel like they can stand out or be respected while still being women since women are treated like infants whose parents will slap their crappy crayon drawings up on the fridge and tell them how amazing they are no matter what they do. They see traditionally feminine hobbies as childish and not worthy of being taken seriously. If they want to be adults they have to act like men.

Feminism absolutely plays a hand in causing this stuff, every time a woman is treated with kid gloves due to her gender status it's a slap in the face to those talented and hard working women who never needed or asked for special treatment.


I just think a lot of feminists need to keep in mind that one doesn't have to use overtly mean or lewd words to objectify and dehumanize someone. All it takes is treating them like a label.
