She really needs that coloring book, guys!

She really is treating this like a vacation, isn't she? A very lazy, smelly one. Doctors nowadays encourage you to walk immediately after surgery (sometimes literally after if it's laparoscopic) unless it's more dangerous to walk. Even the women with hysterectomies they would walk to the bathroom on their own and maybe grab food after the first day or two. Same with showering.

And a lot of those things can be found cheaply at the Dollar Tree or WalMart. A tumbler cup? Are you serious? Hospitals give you those giant cups that are pretty awesome. A pillow specifically made for an ice pack? I'm honestly in awe just how demanding and entitled she is. I got curious so I took a look at her Facebook profile. Her profile is completely public yet she doesn't beg on there hardly ever. My guess is that she doesn't want her friends and family seeing her grift.

I've been in the hospital a number of times and they load you up with shit when you leave. I have an assortment of water tumblers and neck pillows and after a c-section, I came home with a pack of disposable hospital undies and a couple of ice packs I still use to this day. I don't know why she wants special pajamas, for the day or two she'll be there, she'll be in hospital gowns. I'm even pretty sure if she described her situation (poor!) to the nurses, they'd go out of their way to set her up with what they can. It's not like she's paying for it.

I do have to wonder if this is some grifting scheme where she'll spend months begging for items only for her pull a "I can't get my hysterectomy now because X reason." It's definitely best she isn't allowed to procreate so let's hope it's real.

Nurses love giving out free shit. They'll absolutely give her anything that she needs that's within their power to give her. Hell, they'll even give her a gown if she really wants one.

She's 39 years old, which means that even if she was healthy and at an ideal weight she'd be unlikely to get pregnant without help from a fertility specialist. And if she's telling the truth and does have PCOS, her already slim chances of getting pregnant are pretty much nonexistent. She, personally, has nothing to worry about in the face of a total ban on abortions.

So getting a hysterectomy to avoid having to carry an unwanted pregnancy is bullshit. If she just wanted to eliminate any lingering chance of pregnancy, she could probably get a tubal ligation without much of a fight, rather than go to the extreme of getting the whole works yeeted. But then again, if she does have PCOS, she's obviously not trying to mitigate it by maintaining a healthy body weight, so maybe it is bad enough that a hysterectomy seems reasonable.

She's going to milk all the terrible pain, and how she can't do anything for herself—not even nuke Hot Pockets—so she'll need meals delivered or they'll starve. And it'll probably get met with the same deafening silence her posts usually get.

Also, on her list of wants, she includes a "car seat belt protection pillow," because her aunt recommended it. Well, why doesn't she ask her aunt to dig into her hoard and find hers so she can use it? Why doesn't she improvise something from what she's already got, like the women I've known who got hysterectomies did? She's got all the damned time in the world to sit around on her ass and come up with a solution, but no, she's got to beg for something new and purpose-built.

She's really not good at the grift, despite how stubbornly persistent she is.

What is going on in a city of 40,000 people that it takes three hours to recieve food at a food bank?

I live in a city of a million people and I've stood in line for maximum an hour during the height of the pandemic when they physically could not allow more than X number people in. You also could not sit in your car - you stood in the line. With your walker, cane, mobility scooter etc. Just like everyone else.

Like, what is the process at her particular food bank that its taking three hours? Honestly, I've used like... 15+ different food banks in different cities over the past decade and its never taken that long. Is this some extremely special food bank the entire low income population can only access one day a month run by like 4 people and thats it?

I'm not saying this is impossible, I'm just wondering the logistics.

shes gonna be disappointed..99 percent of the time, this is a same day procedure. medicaid isnt going to spring for some week long vacation..they tried to make me leave, the only reason i got to stay until 9am the next morning was because i was puking my guts out. this whole thing is strange, at any rate..where is her husband? why isnt he buying her things she needs?? its so weird to see a married woman begging strangers for personal items, when shes got a man sitting right there.
anyway, i didnt see at the beginning, but im betting a zillion dollars that she claims to have "fibromyalgia".

For a lot of folks these days, hysterectomy can even be outpatient and you’re home the same day.

And hysterectomy is absolutely not a cure/treatment for PCOS unless she’s also getting her ovaries taken out and that’s suuuper rare because it knocks you straight into menopause.

this is a big overstatement. Lots of people get easily and accidentally pregnant at 39. Her, probably not. And she could just get an IUD.

Call me autistic and MATI but I think if she actually sat in line for three hours we would’ve gotten a hell of a lot more than two tweets about it, along with some pictures of the line and the name of the place. This was just fakery to point back to when someone reasonably suggests a food bank.

And several grifters feel landlords are evil for merely charging rent. :story:

It's one thing when landlords or their agents charge ridiculously-inflated rents, but grifters seem to feel landlords deserve nothing in return for their offering someone else a place to live. Some go as far as believing its ok to trash a place and leave it in disarray or disrepair upon vacating the premises as a way to make a statement against the oppressiveness of property ownership or another similarly-wacky idea.
That's one of the things that bugs me about the "Landlords are evil" idea - no nuance. There's a huge difference between slum lord raising rent 300% to drive tenants out, and grandma renting out a place to supplement her retirement income.

The other thing people like Polissa never seem to get - landlords generally value a good tenant. So if you take care of the place, pay your rent, and behave like a decent citizen, a lot of times they will be open to negotiation when you renew your lease. So stop being a hoarder fucking slob with a bunch of sad, neglected animals, and maybe your landlord wouldn't be a slumlord. You made it a slum!

Big ass PL, but I used to own a couple of doors as an investment property and this shit is spot on. I charged a fair below-market rate, gave discounts, waived rent during the height of the pandemic (applied for the mortgage freeze the government was offering, passed the savings on to them instead of taking it for myself). And you know what? My tenants were lazy, trashy, dirty, destructive, and all-around shitty. A big private corporation is easily able to afford to repair the damage these assholes and their feral children and animals do, but your average small-time landlord either has to keep eating the cost themselves, or sell the thing and wash their hands of it entirely.

People like Polissa are the reason rent has gone through the goddamn roof and every property is owned by some multimillion-dollar conglomerate who tries to squeeze every last penny out of their renters. It is literally financial suicide to try to do right by your tenants. Either eat or be eaten, because folks like the Campbells have no shame about their living conditions like you or I do. It’s all about what they can scam off other people.

She's definitely claimed that she can't work because of fibromyalgia.

In my case with the seven hour ride, it was blocks and blocks and took forever because fuck if I know. I just know that I got there around 10 am and got served at 4 pm.

My main thought was that maybe she got in line much earlier to try to get in line, which would mean reeing and quitting over a three hour wait she imposed on herself would be pretty shitty. Especially if she was one of the first in line.

However---

Call me autistic and MATI but I think if she actually sat in line for three hours we would’ve gotten a hell of a lot more than two tweets about it, along with some pictures of the line and the name of the place. This was just fakery to point back to when someone reasonably suggests a food bank.

This is what I'm thinking too. She spoke a lot less about this food bank attempt than she did during her visit to the gyno just to be consulted about the hysterectomy.

A pantry dedicated pets sounds positively glorious. Polissa has all those cats she can't feed, why isn't she in there?
More and more places have them now, I know of at least two in my area. (Actually going to go donate the canned food my cats turned their noses up at tomorrow).

Mind you, I do live in a place that's 10x the size of Florence, but I'm sure she could drive and find a pet food pantry/food bank if the situation was so dire.

Been seeing some comments about how generous and freebie-happy nurses are, and they absolutely will be to most patients, but can you imagine Polissa being gracious and grateful to staff whose job it is to cater to her during her stay when she can't even be gracious and grateful to people who generously give her money they don't have to?

"Appreciated, but it's not enough" is her mantra.

They'll probably give her a standard post-op packet because it's what's done and tell her no, she can't stay longer and take up valuable space needed for new patients when she's perfectly capable of self-aftercare from that point.

I wonder if she even tips DoorDash drivers with her ill-gotten gains.

A number of churches in Florence pooled their resources and created Help Center Florence Alabama. It seems to be the largest food bank in the local area.

It's just over 1.5 miles from their hovel.

Polissa hates the Baptist church with a burning passion so she'll avoid that food center just for that reason.

She claims that a "friend" bought her items off her wishlist. Was this the same "friend" that funded Bella's euthanasia?

Of course, she moved the goal post by adding colored pencils and more journals. Who does she think she is, Amberlynn Reid?

Interestingly, the dry shampoo and baby wipes are still there.

"I will literally die if my power gets turned off" It's Josh's power too last I checked.

Why doesn't she just go to a mall, library, etc to get in AC? Hell, when I was poor and lived in a crappy place with no AC or air flow, sometimes I would just ride the bus. It's already been said, but if she can't pay her bills now, no way can she afford to run AC, especially since she would have it on 24/7 at the coldest setting. Window units aren't the greatest anyway, she could maybe make one room a little cooler, but her house is in such shit condition, the cold air would probably leak out anyway.

Neither Josh or her watch their sugar anyway, so they could easily buy a soda or two for a buck at McDonalds and watch shit on their phone all day there. Not like they’re caring for the animals either. I think they just sleep when they aren’t on Twitter or larping as gardeners.
