Not Cardiac Arrest, it's some weasel words in Japanese that translate to something like "Cardiac Event." It's because they can't declare him dead until a coroner actually files the paperwork.

If anyone is confused about the "cardiac arrest" thing you keep hearing on the news, that's because you're misinterpreting it. The phrase they're using is 心肺停止 (shinpai teishi). The common meaning of this is "cardiac arrest," but it's also used as a euphemism by Japanese news outlets to mean "unconfirmed death." It's as close they can come to saying he's assassinated without an official statement from the government.

it is literal "心肺停止" cardiopulmonary arrest, which is "media term for unconfirmed death". I've never came upon this word before, only 心臓停止. Don't know the difference exactly but media is reporting him as pretty much dead
