Vegetarian diet has always included dairy.

If it includes fish it's piscatarian.

Vegan is the hardcore "I'm so committed I'll do this forever or until I leave college and get a job"

It's too fucking much. I've been a veggie for 38 years and it does drastically cut down your food fun and can be a complete pain in the arse if you are travelling.
If a vegan really means it they can't even get on a bus with leather seats or spend money on any products from a country where somebody once sat on a bug.

You do you certainly but pretending you live "Completely free from animal suffering" is just the usual virtual signalling bullshit.
None of us do.

Everybody got to be better than everybody else.

You do you, as you said! But being vegan is not about being better than everybody else, or about pretending to eliminate all animal suffering from your existence. That would just be silly.

IMO, industrial scale dairy farming is where a lot of problems come from. CO2 and methane emissions, over-consumption of fresh water and land to grow feeds, and the continual production of calves as a byproduct which end up being processed into the food chain, at a low value and quality.

The fact that governments subsidise this practice is particularly sickening, especially when they end up buying a lot of the output and keeping it in a National Government Cheese Cavern because of vast overproduction.

FWIW I grew up on an “old practice” dairy farm and have nothing against there being a few cows in fields in the countryside, but the industrialisation of it, and the fact that the output is pumped into almost all foods whether you want it or not is not cool.

Give my my hats.

ETA something actually on topic: Jen’s Mac and cheese being “vegetarian” may simply be due to some cheese containing rennet, which is directly made of animal. Don’t know how likely that is to be on the shelves in middle-of-nowhere, CO, but it’s possible that’s what he meant.

The distinction between vegetarians and vegans are whether they eat animal products. Vegetarians can eat dairy/eggs, but vegans don't because animals are still being exploited for their milk/eggs.
Even the most psychotic, militant vegan can ethically eat the eggs of chickens who are loved and respected. I think there might be ethical sourcing for honey as well, but people operating on that level are often concealing an eating disorder, or have an autistic perseveration on animal welfare.

Been veg my whole life. If my neighbor brings me his extra eggs, i thank him. There's zero benefit to the animals or anyone else in being a public asshole while vegan. The little cunts need to learn a little bit of smiling and nodding, which brings me to my question - is feces vegan?

Complete fabrication. Also way to celebrate the death of another person, you utter disease.

https://www.denverpost.com/2022/07/...n-who-died-after-being-crushed-by-semi-truck/

Timothy Paul Trenshaw of Westcliffe was headed southbound near mile marker 50 in his Lincoln Navigator when a passing semi-truck traveled through a sweeping right curve, traveled into the southbound lane and rolled over, crushing Trenshaw in the Lincoln.
According to Colorado State Trooper Joshua Lewis, Jennings [the semi driver] was cited for careless driving causing injury (two counts), careless driving causing death, failing to comply with commercial motor vehicle rules/regulations, and driving a commercial motor vehicle when not qualified or without a CDL.
Authorities said alcohol is not considered a factor in the crash, but speed is being investigated as a possible contributing factor.

I was actually wondering about this when writing that. Thanks!

Hrm, very small town where everyone knows each other, grew up together, went to school with so and so's kid or brother or whatever. Farming community, people lean on each other, help each other shear or bale or borrow each other's tractors. Already widely dislikes you for being unhinged psychos who are outsiders to the community and regularly shittalking the locals on the internet.

I know, let's ALSO celebrate and mock one of the local boys dying, and lie about how it happened, out on the internet where other twitter retards are sure to add their own mockery of the death! That will surely improve relations here!

Eta: the local guy was some poor 60 y/o guy just minding his own business and his car got absolutely OBLITERATED (with him in it) by a rolling semi. There was another young couple in a car behind him who were also in the crash and injured. What a piece of fucking shit the troons are.

Penny and Josie were interviewed on an anarchist podcast called Yellow Peril Tactical. Not a big/influential podcast or anything, but I was curious enough to listen to it to see how they would lie about the Tranch's current situation.
podcast interview.pngpodcasters.PNG
https://nitter.net/YPTActual/status/1545475816808644610#m

Notes I took so you don't have to listen:
Penny was definitely rewriting history a bit. Bonnie & Sky are never mentioned, and Penny makes it sound like he was the sole founder and leader of the Tranch. Josie doesn't talk much in the interview.
  • 02:10 - Penny says they're a fully functional ranch & a trans haven that's still in the process of being built. "We're going through growth".
  • 02:43 = Penny envisions the Tranch as a place where people can come visit or maybe stay "for a week or two" to recharge their queer energy. wow what a great haven!
  • 03:49 - Penny basically says he's a doomsday anarchist preparing for upcoming climate collapse and eco-fascism. (Super funny when you look at the state of the Tranch.)
  • 06:18 - Penny says he's been working 14-16 hours a day for 5 years now, all in the pursuit of breaking free from capitalism. (Just ignore that the Tranchers are huge consoomers, I guess...)
  • 07:30 - "We're full-time adults over here, just killin' it!" Penny also says he started the Tenacious Unicorn Ranch.
  • 10:30 - Josie whines about capitalism stealing your time (having to work a job), meaning you have less time to enjoy your life. Kinda bizarre after Penny's comment about having to work 14-16 hours a day to escape capitalism. Josie's goal is self-sufficiency and "to be left alone".
  • 12:31 - Penny is ambitious but very dumb. Talks about wanting to grow enough food (plus some) for the Tranch, and he's not satisfied with their 40-acre plot of land. He wants to expand.
  • 16:13 - Penny is asked about where the idea for the Tranch came from. He says it was because of Trump. Penny trooned out around the election and moved back in with his parents in Longmont, Colorado. "Trump hit the trans/queer community hard." Penny was working at a Target at the time but hated it. He sold his half of a duplex (co-owned with his sister) for starting funds to rent a ranch and start homesteading with "two of [his] girlfriends".
  • 19:11 - One of the podcast hosts starts talking shit about libertarian preppers who stockpile guns & food in a bunker in anticipation of a violent future. Very strange since this almost perfectly describes the Tranch. These podcasters and the Tranchers are supposedly anarchists, but they sound more like communists to me. They talk about how local communities should share resources, etc etc.
  • 20:52 - They whine about America being "toxic". Penny says there are so many preppers in their area that the Tranchers had to change the type of ammunition they use due to lack of availability and high prices.
  • 23:45 - Penny in regards to gun-obsessed preppers: "Look... a gun is part of it, you gotta have that. But calm the fuck down on the guns! Do you know how to plant seeds?" Josie: "Please don't use [guns] in your religious rituals..." Penny: "Yeah, like don't bless your rifles! First of all, God's not real. Stop. Holy shit. And this trend of laying out a closet full of guns and taking a picture..."
    • Feels like I'm taking crazy pills or something, lol. The Tranchers are very cult-like and love showing off their guns with tacticool accessories and trans-themed decorations. They also don't grow any food crops on their wasteland, so I'm not sure why they're hypocritically lecturing other people about all this.
  • 24:10 - Penny says each Trancher has their own rifle and pistol. Brags about how they shoot on their own gun range at least twice a week.
  • 26:10 - Regarding the "attack" on the Tranch, Penny says "it has everything to do with our gender". "They had a straight-up fascist parade in Westcliffe." He says they started getting negative attention after calling out the fascist parade on twitter.
  • 27:50 - "Fuck them and their kids. *laughs*"
  • 28:22 - Penny says there have been six confirmed "death threats" against people who've interviewed the Tranch. Mentions a mysterious package of powder that was sent through the mail. Vaguely claims that there was some kind of violent rhetoric on a local facebook group.
    • No mention of any trespassing or being literally shot at like a couple of the Tranchers have claimed elsewhere. 🤔
  • 29:00 - Penny says he and Josie have been working all day and doing guard duty at night for weeks now. He stays on the lookout for people tailing them whenever they drive out to a client's house. Nice lie and/or paranoia there!
  • 29:20 - "We just progressively got more and more in lockdown..." Tran Ranch is under siege, under lockdown! :lit: Penny says they don't bother to reach out to the local sheriff because "he's a militia member". Nice excuse for never filing a police report for these totally legit threats.
  • 29:42 - Penny says he contacted antifa networks in Denver, etc for help instead. Antifa members showed up to guard the Tranch for a full month, with at least four armed people constantly patrolling the property. :lunacy: The local fascists supposedly gave up after this.
  • 34:20 - Penny talks about his view on guns and how they're seen by other leftists. Says every queer person and POC should own a gun or two due to white supremacy.
  • 38:14 - Penny insists that white supremacists and neo-nazis have already started their war on queer people / POCs, and it's not a conspiracy theory. "Get a gun and throw bricks!" is his advice.
  • 40:18 - Asked about current/upcoming projects at the Tranch, Penny mentions the Oglala Lakota grift. He claims to be fundraising for the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, but we already know the latest gofundme is for his personal friend in Longmont, Colorado. Btw, Penny says they're going to haul another truckload of junk to Pine Ridge later this month.
  • 41:32 - Penny says they're going to make yet another Amazon Wishlist and GoFundMe for the Oglala Lakota this summer.
  • 42:39 - Asked about how the trans haven thing works, Penny says they welcome visitors as long as they give some advanced notice, and they can stay in the trailer for a week. The Tranch isn't currently allowing for long-term stays due to some "recent problems" they've had. 🤔
  • 43:44 - Asked for advice on how to start a commune/homestead, Penny says to "field test" your starting group to make sure they're good people. He also says it's very important to exploit the loopholes in capitalism (he basically means cheat on your taxes and try to scam government grants & benefits here...)
  • 47:12 - Penny's final bit of advice is to wake up at 5am, go to bed at 10pm, and work all day. Definitely sounds like an envious life!
  • 50:17 - Penny says they aren't doing merchandising for now because they donated all their Tranch t-shirts and alpaca fiber. He says they're doing "fine" monetarily :optimistic: so they aren't doing any fundraising for themselves. He recommends donating to the Oglala Lakota gofundme instead.
  • 52:05 - "Why alpacas?" Penny says they're fiber-bearing animals, so he knew he could find a market (???). More importantly to Penny, they're also very cute. Josie also mentions that many alpaca farmers are old & retiring, so you can often get alpaca herds for free. :story:Very irresponsible (and I would say malicious) of them not to talk about how alpacas are usually unprofitable and you should be careful before "rescuing" a herd of them.
    • Penny says the Tranch received two large herds of 76 and 98 alpacas for free.
  • 54:52 - Asked about how they maintain positivity in a crumbling world, Josie says he takes inspiration from Indigenous peoples. He wants to be a caretaker of the land and leave it better for future generations (🤣).
  • 56:40 - Penny says his mom is Armenian and his grandfather survived the Armenian genocide. Claims his grandfather escaped from a forced march by the Turks and fled to Syria at only 6 years old, where he somehow ended up at an American orphanage. He grew up to become a doctor and immigrated to America. Penny says he uses this as inspiration to fight against fascism and work to make a better world.

Step great grandfather and also he was a proctologist: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/60662072/azad-ardashes-katchian

Edit: His step grandmother Anahid and her parents immigrated to the US in 1954, when she was was 20.

Edit 2: His sainted Armenian grandparents donated money to Bill Armstrong's campaign in 1984.

In 1982, Armstrong served as the general chairman of the National Prayer Breakfast, and alongside President Ronald Reagan, delivered the keynote address at the 1988 National Prayer breakfast. Speaking at religious gatherings, he often related the story of how a stranger came to see him in the Capitol and led him to the four spiritual laws, which are based on the famous booklet by Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ.

Armstrong was President of Colorado Christian University at the time of his death, having served in that position since 2006. During his tenure as president, Armstrong became well known for his catchphrase "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus." His involvement in Christian organizations and the national evangelical movement became a notable aspect of his legacy and his impact on others.

But also...
Penny: "Yeah, like don't bless your rifles! First of all, God's not real. Stop. Holy shit. And this trend of laying out a closet full of guns and taking a picture..."

I have to second your disbelief at this line. This is a man who if we are to believe his own account works 14 hour days in ballistic plates with a rifle always at hand and practices his quick draw all night, who has so thoroughly killed all plant life in his possession that the ground on his property is visibly lowered by the topsoil blowing away. Using the word hypocrisy to describe this feels like using a fishing rod to reel in a whale.

dont forget he goes to bed at 10pm

I wonder if the whole "exploiting Capitalism's loopholes" things includes squatters rights seeing as how no one currently living at the Tranch (I'm convinced Sky's gone) is on the deed. Phil doesn't even own the land he lives on and the only thing he can grow are the piles of used appliances in the yard.

If this is the blessed life anarcho-communism can provide, I think I'll stick with toxic Neoliberalism just a little longer.
And now we know why they keep Josie around even though he's barely a queeeeer: Penny needs another healthy body to slave for 14 hours a day. No fucking way Bonnie was putting in those hours.

I saw this in the replies to the "mac & cheese" tweet. I wonder why they chose that over burrito night.

This really does sound like Sky lives off-Tranch now and only comes back occasionally for things like "game night".

I think they inadvertently portray themselves as 'libertarians with extra steps'.

Also, my irony meter melted through the concrete reading all that eco-blather and, especially, how you should not constantly pose with your guns.

Lastly, if you need to work 14-hour days where most of us can get away with 8, just to stick it to the capitalist man, you're doing it wrong.
