What gets me is that after the laptop leak, no one in the government had the presence of mind to send the NSA and FBI to brick all of Hunter's electronics and set him up with a new clean set with trackers to make sure he doesn't fuck up again.
I mean it seems like such a basic thing to do in the light of a leak of that nature that I'm almost suspicious about this new leak. I mean I know our government is staffed by careerist retards at this point, but damn, anyone with two brain cells to rub together would be able to figure out they needed to do a little tidying up of loose ends.
You're forgetting that our government is staffed exclusively by utter incompetents. If you've got any brains or talent at all, you not only have the chops to get a better-paying job in the private sector but also the good sense to do so. Government employees at all levels are lazy, stupid, rude, ignorant, cowardly, arrogant, openly contemptuous of the public they "serve," are motivated solely by self-interest, make no effort to hide any of it and feel absolutely no guilt for it.
One reason I'm not nearly as afraid of the three-letter agencies as people think I should be is that they're astonishingly bad at everything they do. The only reason any of them ever accomplishes
anything is a combination of dumb luck and their target making one tiny mistake at just the right moment. They're
constantly getting caught fucking up even the simplest tasks. Even if they're actively targeting someone and seemingly have them dead-to-rights, there's a strong chance they'll blow it anyway and self-sabotage their efforts.
The CIA has a hilariously awful track record. They set out to fuck things up, and they certainly do, but never in the way they want and it consistently blows up in their face. The FBI spent five years trying to sabotage and expel Trump (before and after he took office) and despite having half of the American public, the entire political apparatus of the DNC, the majority of the world's wealthy elites, a bevy of liberal judges at all levels, the secret (FISA) court, and even a sizeable portion of the GOP's rank and file members openly backing and encouraging them,
and with full access to the vast resources the Department of Justice commands at their disposal, they still fucked that up too. Their only contribution to Trump's defeat at the polls in 2020 was obediently looking the other way as their masters rigged the ballots.
The NSA probably does have backdoors, keys and brute force techniques we don't know about and we know with certainty that they make every effort to collect and decrypt as much internet (and other electronic) traffic as possible to store in one big massive "data lake" (to use the modern parlance) and they respect privacy about as much as Boogie respects a sheet cake. But I guarantee they're fucking
drowning in that data lake and have no useful way to search or organize it, and it's likely near-useless to them and always will be.
Remember, these are the very same fuckups that once bungled a simple burglary so badly it led directly to the resignation of a sitting president. Trusting these imbeciles to suggest or take any intelligent course of action to establish and enforce decent opsec of a top-level official (and/or their family) is a fool's errand.
