I remember a few months ago so many of these "artists" got their panties twisted because their audios were shared in torrents on I believe a Russian site (I could be wrong about that last part). The absolute ego-trip you have to be on to convince yourself that moaning into a mic somehow makes you an important, almost essential part in people their lives.

A lot of creators completely gave up on recording, like Belle_in_the_woods who claim they stopped recording because it's a "closed chapter of their lives" but it was conveniently after the drama went down, with "stolen property". Most eventually came back and started posting again, I would presume because they missed the attention they got from their audios, and the fact that the majority of their Patreons fall flat because well, why pay for this?

As anyone looking for a quick buck they constantly try to up the ante to get people to fork over some cash. Who wouldn't be enticed to pay a monthly fee for access to their creepy discord server? Some even go as far as to have bi-weekly or monthly live audio sessions for their most loyal pay-pigs, I mean patrons.

I mean, their entire activity perfectly encompasses their absolute lack of morals. What do they do for a living ? They pretend to be your girlfriend (with the dryest acting possible) for 10 minutes. Most of their audience is made up of teenagers/manchildren with some kind of mental issues (from social isolation to severe autism, as some of the screenshots of comments posted in the thread clearly shows). Many are even willing to pay money, sometimes large amounts, for this crap. I've seen a guy ask a VA to create a special tier for himself on patreon, because he wanted to spend hundreds of dollars on her. I saw the same guy admitting that he had mental issues, one of them related to money spending. At least, with an escort, you have an actual, physical interaction with someone

The VAs audience doesn't need pretend comfort videos, it needs medical help. I'm sure some VAs unironically believe they are providing some kind of help to these people, but if they interact with them, they would surely know that their fans aren't well. But no, gotta make a profit out of their misery. Or they're just too dumb to see it. Either way, they only care about things when they might hurt their revenue. If they had any kind of morality, they wouldn't scam these vulnerable people out of their money with their Patreons.

And I won't even talk about their beggar mentality, I've so many of them ask their followers for more money because they don't know how to manage their finances.

I think it's no accident many of them are thinking of creating or have already made a Vtuber personality. The two universes somewhat overlap. They're just taking a different route: where the Twitch thots started out as normie streamers and only later became porn actors, the VAs started doing porn/comfort audios and are now becoming normie streamers.

And most of them are male, so I presume her audience is mostly girls. She does do sfw and nsfw. Annnnnnnd she's been accused of grooming minors. I used to lurk in the "mentally ill pinterest users" meme community; those queer teen girls either love yagami yato or hate her. (They deserve a thread all on their own btw, but that's for another day I guess.) They make memes demonstrating their distaste.

So when I go looking for funny ASMR screencaps, I usually start by searching for videos involving subjects that aren't relaxing in the way ASMR is supposed to be. Dying, being stabbed, abusive partners, that kind of thing. Now, normally you find find at least one or two videos on any given topic- no matter how weird and unrelaxing it might be, some degenerate has probably recorded themselves whispering about it before.

However, today I've found there's a shockingly large number of "sleep paralysis demon ASMR" videos, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why there are so many. Did one VA make a successful one, causing all the smaller channels to make their own in hopes of riding the wave? That's the only reason I can think of that doesn't involve autism.

Yes, there are so many videos catering to really weird fetishes, but some are much more popular than others. For sleep paralysis, I would say it's something that talks to enough people without being outright repulsive.
If you want to be disgusted, look at asmr videos about being enslaved. There's just so much out there, and it really shows that this isn't just about wholesome relaxation and comfort videos, this is also about fueling the most revolting fetishes.

Ok, I think this melody/enchanter guy is actually the first A-Log I've seen in this community. The man has apparently hit multiple people with false copyright claims, and sent a mail to one of them. And you just have to read it to believe it.


I really can't understand what the guy is trying to accomplish, he's hellbent on contacting Queen Serena (the one he's calling a whore in this mail), the VA his Melody account is plagiarizing. Maybe a butthurt ex ?

They do pay for some creators, but it's to make audio "porn", and no, they don't feel like putting more effort into it.

But I think it tells more about their audience than the creators themselves, they're so socially broken that they have to pay for very low grade audios to feel like they're having a social life. With that money, you could pay for a prostitute (and maybe even get something out of the experience), but that would require too much social interactions. They prefer getting deeper in the hole they dug for themselves.

I'm going to be the first of the condemned to admit I am the audience for these audios. It's been about 3 years since I stumbled upon them.

I haven't seen anyone mention r/pillowtalkaudio which is the SFW version of r/gonewildaudio. PTA used to be much more active but the people who used to post stuff there began posting it on YouTube once people realised the commercial incentive. That's probably why the YouTube Asmr roleplay "community" seems to have come out of nowhere because there was already a dedicated community that followed them there. Now PTA is a ghost town.

I don't know anything about the community or the drama around it, even for me it's weird to want an actual connection with anyone involved. I do however know most notable artists on GWA and have listened to things that most people here would consider hanging me for. And yes I am fucking addicted and I am a loser and I am mentally ill.
