Alright, I'll bite.

So he overdosed on Depakote you say? Let's do a little math.

This guy looks pretty chubby, not obese, but definitely a little pudge. Funnily enough, weight gain is a side effect of Depakote. In any case, I'm going to be very generous and say James is 175lbs. That's 79.37 kilos, but I'll continue to be (extremely) generous and say he's 79 flat.

Google, at a glimpse, tells me that the the LD50 (lethal dose in 50% of specimens) for Depakote is 400-1000mg. First of all, yes, that's a very broad range. On either end of that spectrum that's a large amount of drug to overdose on. Depakote isn't a deadly drug, but let's be extra generous to old arki and go with 400.

For a frame of reference, if James is heavier (he absolutely is), he needs more drugs to actually kill himself, and the higher the LD50 dose, the more pills he needs to kill himself. So I'm leaning all of my math toward taking James seriously and saying he intended to kill himself with Depakote. 400mg/kg and 79 kg.

The largest dose pill I was able to see was 500mg in a single pill. Let's go with that as well. 400 * 79 is 31,600mg. 31,600/500 is 63.2.

Let's say 63 pills. It would take 63 of the largest Depakote pill available to kill himself with the highest estimate of it's toxicity and a, frankly, delusionally low estimation of this dipshits weight.

That's like two or three fist-fulls of large pills, assuming anybody has that much on hand. Anybody at all buying this?

Possible? Surely. Likely? I don't think so. I think Arki took like 5-10 pills and publicly posted a note where literally everybody could see it. It's wildly dramatic, cringe as fuck, and clearly begging for attention. Most successful (see: deliberate) suicides are hangings or gun shot wounds. Overdoses are usually a cry for attention, and very often used by teenagers and women who just want to be noticed.

He'll get a 72 hour psych hold, depending on where he lives, then he'll probably spend a few weeks in-patient somewhere.

The math on the overdose amount is just plain math. My experience with bullshit "suicides" is from over a decade in emergency medicine. It's very common in these histrionic cunts.

If anybody is interested Depakote is roughly as toxic as Advil (specifically the active ingredient ibuprofen) by weight assuming it's got an LD50 of 400-600mg/kg. Most estimates have ibuprofen at 600-700mg/kg.

Depakote, outside of whatever weird bullshit it does psychologically, is a fucking miserable choice to off yourself with.

Irrelevant, because he obviously wasn't.

The “My wife on dialysis who needs a kidney transplant is still forced to provide for us by society” line really evokes zero sympathy when you consider the general entitlement of his twitter thread and the reality that dialysis and getting a kidney is society providing for her.

Anyway, worth noting, overdosing by pills with the intent to commit suicide is the least successful method and usually the method women use. It’s somewhat uncommon for men to attempt it this way, they usually go for more definitive methods e.g. hanging, jumping, gun in the mouth etc.

I heard that it had something to do with pain — that women were supposedly more skittish about it, and wanted to leave behind less of a mess to clean up.

In all honesty, this just sounds like an attempt to garner attention. If there was really a concern at all about the wife, suicide wouldn’t even be on the table.

If he was serious, (doubtful) & destitute, as it seems from this note, a better option would be to take out a life insurance policy, & make the death seem accidental. Leave that wife (or whoever) with a nice little chunk of cash. This is definitely a “call for help” type of situation. Posting it to twitter is just rank bullshit.
