Personally I like Bobby, purely because of how irrationally angry he makes people like Jim.I'd settle for Kotick being publicly flayed by a cat-o-nine tails.

UMMMM SWEATY THIS IS WHY BIGGOTS LIKE YOU AREN'T ALLOWED TO WATCH WRESTLINGAre we only counting UK fights? Cause remember in America he fought a woman and did an incredibly clumsy move that could have easily broken her neck.
This looks like a college theatre production.@Ooonkeh posted a photo from one of the events that Jim attended a few pages back (link) and it's pretty obvious from looking at it that there aren't a lot of people there who would find Jim any worse than the next weirdo.

They look like a group of low level villains from an old comic book. These aren't WWE wrestlers. They aren't even the B-tier wrestlers that show up to events in small-town America. I'm not even sure that this gaggle of goons is on Tonka Saw's level.
No one with any sense of standards, decency, or shame will be harmed by coming into contact with Jim at one of those events.
I completely agree and its very weird that Jim goes off on Activision, Kotick, Blizzard, muh capitalism without once mentioning that Immortal was co-developed by their Chinese partner and with that in mind it makes sense why there is so many microtransactions because this kind of stuff in the F2P scene in Asia isn't that uncommon. To highlight how Immortal might've been made for the Asia market in first there was more pre-registrations in China alone (15 million) then there has been installs in the rest of the world (10 million).Diablo Immortal is a bit of a lazy target for this because you can hate Blizzard all you want like a rational person but they actually do seem to be trying to give everyone something by doing both Immortal and IV (and II remaster) rather than just mashing it all into one game that puts all its focus on the stuff that will make money. Rather than trying to force everyone into a single model that makes money for everything they're doing a lot better about "don't like that well how about this" including the changes they made to Overwatch 2 and so on. And to the broader Activision-Blizzard, they could have been absolutely shitty with Call of Duty but they really haven't been there either and provided lots of options and free content that used to be expensive as fuck DLC that never went on sale. Black Ops Cold War is still getting maps.
I'm not saying they're great or anything nor even that I personally am interested in most of this stuff but there have to be better targets surely? Companies that aren't actually improving and listening to fans (even if they aren't listening to Jim, the real sin)?
Notably, Jim is the only one wearing a mask, maybe, deep down, he subconciously knows how fucking repulsive he looks.@Ooonkeh posted a photo from one of the events that Jim attended a few pages back (link) and it's pretty obvious from looking at it that there aren't a lot of people there who would find Jim any worse than the next weirdo.

I used to help highlight monetization and design changes needed to port East Asian games to a Western audience in an earlier part of my career. The shit they get away with over there that's viewed as generous and non-exploitive would make any microtransaction bitching we do about the worse offenders here look like nothing.I completely agree and its very weird that Jim goes off on Activision, Kotick, Blizzard, muh capitalism without once mentioning that Immortal was co-developed by their Chinese partner and with that in mind it makes sense why there is so many microtransactions because this kind of stuff in the F2P scene in Asia isn't that uncommon. He can't point any of this out because it would totally undercut his argument that these evil predators are targetting poor vulnerable neurodivergents when the primary whales are probably all Chinese bugmen who only care about paying to be NUMBAH WAN.I completely agree and its very weird that Jim goes off on Activision, Kotick, Blizzard, muh capitalism without once mentioning that Immortal was co-developed by their Chinese partner and with that in mind it makes sense why there is so many microtransactions because this kind of stuff in the F2P scene in Asia isn't that uncommon. Chinese players, as well as Korean and Japanese, are a bit looser with their wallets to start, and that's before we get to the fact they have a higher number of Krakens than we got Dolphins over here, and for a reminder:He can't point any of this out because it would totally undercut his argument that these evil predators are targetting poor vulnerable neurodivergents when the primary whales are probably all Chinese bugmen who only care about paying to be NUMBAH WAN.
Brianna Wu is a Kraken for her shitty Star Trek games. I remember Smutley did a breakdown on her spending for one once and it was like 10,000 in a single month.Chinese players, as well as Korean and Japanese, are a bit looser with their wallets to start, and that's before we get to the fact they have a higher number of Krakens than we got Dolphins over here, and for a reminder:
Dolphins spend maybe $200-$2000 on a game over the course of a year. These are the guys who buy the odd skin or maybe drop a bit of money each month. You know, consistent spenders, but not big spenders. You get about one of these in every hundred players, and they cover the cost of keeping the servers online at best. They might drop a few hundred a month. Whales drop thousands a month, they make games profitable. A kraken drops tens of, if not hundreds of thousands, a month on the low end. These are what make a game unreasonably successful, just getting one of these. A kraken, if you can keep them, is worth literally millions a year. They can easily drop a new house a month on a game, and do so consistently. A kraken is what the unreasonably wealth become when they lack self control and get hooked on a game.
Its actually about video games so never.Saw a YongYea video this morning (yes he's cringey and rambling, but also likeable somehow and informative and not a tranny) where he covers Ubisoft pulling online playability and more from a bunch of their older titles.
How many weeks after the story was actually current I wonder, will Jim Bob cover it as an "Oh Ubisoft" edition of the Jimquisition?
One? Two? More?
Now, getting back to Aloy, she actually had a balanced design in the first horizon. She had elements of a traditional female design with some warrior elements, compared to her design in the sequel which sandpapers away a lot of her cuter design elements (namely her facial structure, which were her most feminine features in the original game) for seemingly no reason other than "we don't need people to like her now, the game will sell."

At least YongYea focuses on just the topic of Ubisoft's backlash, unlike Jim Sterling where he would go off-topic about trans crap.Saw a YongYea video this morning (yes he's cringey and rambling, but also likeable somehow and informative and not a tranny) where he covers Ubisoft pulling online playability and more from a bunch of their older titles.

I think about this video almost as often as Jim references it. I think it was a good Jimquisition, and probably the last one at that. It seemed like Jim put some real work into it and you could tell he was proud of it by the way he mentioned it in almost every episode the following weeks.Jim claims he 'did the journalism' by interviewing a handful of speds who bankrupted themselves on FIFA.
I think his channel would have done so much better than it does with his current trooned out channel where he makes jokes about his tits. It's really sad. The impulse to be a tranny just caught up with him eventually and we never saw what a Jimquisition with more of those types of videos would be like.
I agree it was the last time he actually attempted to make an effort, the problem I had was he presented maybe 3 or 4 accounts and acted as though that was somehow reflective of the millions of people who play these games. I'm not going to bat for microtransactions or anything --they fucking suck, especially in full-price games-- but anyone with even a basic understanding of how research works knows that is a laughably poor data set that proves absolutely nothing.I think about this video almost as often as Jim references it. He will go back to his other favorite punching bag, Konami.(Curious who the new big evil man is gonna be since Bobby is leaving once Activision Blizzard goes under Microsoft)
Have they even done anything remotely malicious of note recently? Not that it'd stop the man, but still...He will go back to his other favorite punching bag, Konami.
