I don't know if it was the same case but I heard similar theorizing about one like it. Also the Hart case- they came up with several creative solutions for that one. That they were mad with grief because muh racism and homophobia, was one. Another was that one of the couple was a fake lesbian who had entrapped the troo lesbian and forced her and the kids to die because...no none of this tracks, but they absolutely will double down if challenged.

Also Homolka, in Canada, that's all the man's fault according to radfems. She was scared of her man so she had to rape and murder to please him.

I'd still flat out tell any woman who's boyfriend/spouse uses porn for hours upon hours a day to drop kick his ass. And that's not addict behavior. That's casual use. Now, if you want to put down a relationship rule that it's out of bounds, and you both agree to it, yes, everyone should abide by that rule. But even screwing up and breaking the rule doesn't constitute addict behavior, it's just a human error. You apologize, you move on.

The idea that looking at porn- which saturates our media and has become all but unavoidable in young people's peer groups- right away turns you into a porn addict is something I have seen a lot, both from radfems and from people with religious objections to porn. I don't have an argument with their feelings on porn in general or their desire to have relationships free of it. But the idea that using something undesirable casually means you get to brand the person with "addict" and all that implies is simply unfair and irrational. I'm not an alcoholic if I have a beer with pizza tonight, even if I was a Mormon, even if I had promised someone I wouldn't drink beer. I'd be breaking a promise or transgressing a religious teaching, but that would not make me an alcoholic.

If a guy looks at porn at all and his female partner doesn't like it though these religious groups and radfems jump right to "addict" and I have seen them make condemnations and recommendations exactly the same as they would if they caught him doing heroin. It's insane overreaction and doesn't help address the real problem of pornified pop culture and young kids getting exposed to it way too young and habituated to it.

Shockingly, spending several hours every day cranking your hog to your fantasy life means your real life usually ends up being kinda sub-par by your 30s. Time is a finite resource.

Any addict bullshit would be the same, but the overlap between dudes who jerk off too much and dudes who are also addicted to various pseudo-hobbies (gacha, vidya, consoomer shit in general) is pretty high. The combination leaves a shit-ton of people who don't have any life skills and can't/won't acquire any because they don't provide immediate access to those dopamine loops. It's even more devastating now because people get started in adolescence or earlier.

Adulthood is pretty much all long term rewards. Even most productive hobbies are frustrating as shit when you're learning.
