What's interesting is that this does seem to be some Luxiem-specific branch of it, considering the specific Puchiluxiem tag. Can you give me examples of Cover being bad at promoting the Stars?

From the point of view of someone like me who don't really follow them that much, they got:
- New outfits and live2d updates
- Their own 3D concert
- Their own version of Hologra animation
- Sponsorships
- Lot's of advertisement banners, at least for Uproar

Cover has some weird stiuplations with collabing with indies no matter how big or small so that's the least worry. I don't think they even suck at promoting Stars, they just simply, don't do it outside of projects. Sucking at it implies they fail at their (non-existent) active promotion of it. So while Stars isn't completely forgotten (there are plenty of media releases), they just do not get the limelight like Hololive does, the community just doesn't really pick up on it since in Japan (and now the west), Nijisanji kind of supplied the male/female split and outwest, unless you know Japanese you have 0 reason to support Stars.

I dont even think its Cover being "bad" at promoting Stars. It's the fans in general. Hololive has built themselves an audience that only watch women. People blame Cover Corp for "not promoting the boys" when they themselves dont even watch them. In reality its the audience that has a problem for not giving the boys a chance.

To produce one single MV like this you have to involve the likes of producers, composers, artists, animators and many more and most of the time the talents bite the bullet and pay out of their own pocket. Here's a clip of Moona talking about it in some capacity. A simple cover song can cost as much as a few thousand dollars, so you can imagine how much it cost creating an original from the scratch. And the monetary return on music video is basically non existence in term of ad revenue.

Nobody expect Noel to do it but she did it anyway for fan service. She talked about it in a recent MH stream about how she'll actually be in the negative with only her HL job, as you called it. Don't just look at the superchat number and think "oh shit these thots has it easy". To put it nicely, she literally whore herself out for your good. To put it bluntly, Hololive is the side income for Noel.

Another prime example is Suou Patra from Honey Strap. SocialBlade estimated her yearly youtube superchat income at around 31 million yen. Last year, her voice pack on dlsite sold for 120 million yen alone. And that's not counting her NSWF account that also doing the same ASMR thing as Noel and selling erotic voice pack. Those are the thing that made bank for these girl, not the revenue from simply being a corporate vtuber.
