Anime Matsuri announced two new English dubs to anime from Nippon Animation. The cast includes many ex-Funimation people. With a certain gay pants user having top billing.

It should also be noted that many of the Funimation alumni are rumored to have had falling outs with Sabat's clique.
Who is going to sperg first?

Gonna watch feeds and archive tomorrow, lads...

Interesting.

Morgan Berry used to be a Funimation regular until she left for California (I think). She still does dubs, with the most recent having her reprise her character in Shield Hero (Crunchyroll dub). I don't know if her appearance here is a coincidence or not.

Krystal LaPorte was never blacklisted by Funimation, but instead, ironically, by Sentai. She used to date Chris Ayres, who was later diagnosed (and died from) COPD. Before he got the diagnosis, people accused her of being the source of some of the les obvious symptoms of COPD, like exhaustion, irritability, and just generally looking like shit. She was canceled and despite the rumors being completely debunked, she was never let back in. they even redubbed her character in Beyond The Boundary because cancel culture isn't real

I talked about Jeff Johnson in the Matsuri thread. He'd friendly with Vic, to the point of playing handball with Gay Pants Man and even helping him with carpentry(?) in one of Vic's rooms. He plays a significant secondary character, Demiurge, in all dubbed seasons of Overlord. Season 3 was dubbed back in late 2018 (before the Vic smearing kicked off in 2019). The fourth season just started airing in Japan, and I'm assuming the dubbed episodes will start appearing soon. We'll see if Johnson reprises his character. If he doesn't, it proves that Crunchy is blacklisting people just for being friends with Mr. Lasagna.

Not much knowledge on Cynthia Crantz, though I know she has appeared at conventions with Vic before.

I forgot the lore on Young and Vollmer.

Surprised they didn't try to get Amanda C. Miller

Cranz denied the Sabat casting couch thing on her FB.

I take a break from the autism and see this delightful news when finally returning to the farms.
Butter up some popcorn, I’m ready for the sperg fest entertainment to come from this.

Also good for Vic and the others. Genuinely happy for them.

Like Cranz, Vollmer and Young have also appeared at cons with Vic.
Vollmer was also the original FuniBulma they kicked to the curb for Monica.

I think the final nail in the coffin for the subs vs dubs argument is that dubs now have this fucking Wapanese spergwar, and [FAN]subs don't. It's over, dubfags.
The real people who lose are the people who like the dubs because they can't understand shit, but also have the subtitles on because they watch everything else with subtitles.

Neither of them ever match and it's fucking impossible.

I actually prefer to watch anime that has a good dub with the english dub voices and the Japanese translation subtitles, specifically to see the changes the dub made. Usually it's just a slight rewording of things, but sometimes you'll find that there is a lot more meaning in the sentence than the dubbers had lip flaps to use, so they chop bits out or rearrange them. Sometimes they also censor the original lines to make them less "problematic" in the dub, but they leave it in the translated subs.

Even if Monica hadn't kicked off KV, it was a poor choice, she's a shit Bulma.
As much as I hate Monica I do think she’s a good actress when she actually tries. Lyra/Dante in FMA03 is still one of her best imho.

But that being said, Vollmer was waaay better as Bulma. Vollmer really understood how ridiculous, feisty, bratty, flirty, over the top, and hilarious Bulma is. She nails that so well. And still shows her softer and serious side when it calls for it.

Monica has two modes for Bulma: regular, and angry.

Vollmer actually covers the entire range of Bulma’s comedy and her serious or kinder moments too.

Yes I’m a dub fag. I deserve to be mocked for my autism.

It's really hard to tell unless you're fluent in both Nippon and English. Even if reading "faithful" subtitles you're still getting it filtered through a translator with their own translation choices.

I remember there was a stink a few months ago because of some questionable subtitling choices.

Genbanojou and Zip! Shimezo are a couple of shorts from the government-funded Young Animator Training Project (renamed to Anime Tamago) that was done throughout the 2010s. People stopped subbing them after a while, so the fact a couple of these obscure shorts have been picked up for an English dub and distribution is actually amazing.
