As far as I can tell, first blood from a big corpo was Qilou from Virtuareal (NijiCN/joint corpo with Bilibili), the announcement was released as "having left forever due to health" in May. The death was probably earlier than that, since they couldn't get in touch with someone who'd confirm it.
As said above, Qilou from VirtuaReal passed away in May. Her genmates did a cover of VTL for their 1-year anniversary and to commemorate her. All her stuff is still up as well.
Japan isn't an Islamic country on the verge of censoring the internet on moral grounds. Of course an ID Vtuber would get touchy about it.
I only know they banned reddit for "pornography" when faggotry would be a much more fitting reason. Anyway it doesn't feel like Vtuber audience at least (so probably younger city people for the most part) is not too conservative at all, they might pretend to be when they try to cancel someone though.

It isn't that Vtuber's and viewers in ID are conservative. Probably the least conservative group of internet users there. The problem is all it takes is one cunt politician to find examples like this, say it's corrupting the youth of ID and rouse others into a moral panic. Suddenly all these smaller Vtubers are potentially out of work. If they got worked up about Moona (?) not respecting Islam during a holiday, then what about this?
