This reminds me of a random guy on Reddit complaining about vtubers preying on suicidal young men or something. Most of the threads are people lashing out at the guy but maybe some of the discussion there might help you re-evaluate the parasocial feelings you seem to be feeling?

I think my current feelings protect me pretty well. When a streamer is too much of a "friend experience" (which isn't every Vtuber but it is a lot of them) it feels exploitative to me and I stay away or at least don't give them money. Same reason I never fell prey to gatcha - it feels exploitative so I stay away. Maybe I miss out on some fun, but that seems better than the alternative. I know I have an addictive personality and could throw a lot of money into superchats etc. if I started - no disrespect to the people who are able to simp at a sane moderate level but that ain't me

One interesting thing about Kyo's PL is that he's got a video on his channel from a year ago where he talks about his recent brain surgery. He's a bit self-deprecating about it and can't stop laughing, but he reveals he became a Youtuber because he's a shut-in as a result of chronic nerve pain. His brain surgery revealed that he had a developmental disorder where his nerves grew in through his muscles instead of on top of them, and the surgeons forcibly re-routed them to clear things up. That's not the only thing that's wrong with him - he also mentioned early-onset arthritis and having six inches of his intestines removed.

Assuming he's not lying about his issues for fake sympathy, I'm impressed he's so upbeat despite being dealt a real shit hand in life. He's very young, too - he mentioned wanting to clear these issues up before going to college so he's around 18 or 19 now. Guess the Iluna teaser really was right, and "cheerful guy" is his superpower.

I actually think it might be the "big thing" she said that got shut down on short notice causing her to have to scramble to have something ready for her birthday. Hopefully something a lot more interesting than a pillow. She also mentioned that it was the reason that she's super busy at the moment, which doesn't seem like would be the case for a Daki.
