I was already primed for the comic to swerve in a darker direction, with it already languishing in all the violence and strong sexual undertones (most of which are pushed during Cade's captivity in the Sith Temple), but even I wasn't expecting the writers to take a likeable scalawag like Syn and saddle him with such a morally dubious aspect to his past.
Disney wouldn't dream of sullying one of their heroes with that kind of blood on their hands, particularly not someone undisputedly portrayed as having a heart of gold and being loyal to the protagonist.

remember going to the PT films in theaters as a kid and having a great time; that line in the Plinkett review about how kids'll be bored with trade dialogue and politics never really rang true to me. Man, not only do they censor Leia, they don't even use one of her other RotJ outfits. Granted, the disguise in Jabba's palace has her helmeted most of the time, and the fatigues she wore on Endor has her wearing another helmet and thus less distinguishable as to who she is at a glance, but in that case, maybe don't fix what ain't broken?
And I get that it's a T-shirt so a reduction in art quality isn't impossible, but they really did a disservice to Kazuhiko Sano's original poster art. It looks all muddy and bland when you compare it side-by-side. This is made all the worse by the fact that you can literally buy shirts with the full original art right now.

Its a multimillion dollar production by one of the biggest entertainment companies in the world as one of Disney's supposed "biggest films of the decade" and this is the best they could do:
From clumsy falls, random twirls, no contact and disappearing weapons in midfight, this crap is actually straight up laughable for a multibillion company like Disney. This isn't from an independent studio hated by Hollywood, or a made for tv film, or hell even a youtube fan project. For the money Disney put into this thing (or refused to put in), it was as laughable as their cheapness in not hiring the London Symphony Orchestra for their garbage new trilogy. Even professional fighters and coreographers have made fun of this, yet a "pro" like Act Man expects us to take his word on it.

You know, they say that Reva's redemption work because "Vader redeemed himself, why not her?"
And you know, Im tired of this argument that "Vader redeemed himself and thus, everyone can". I say that not all redemptions are equal. Vader's is not the same as others, IN and OUT of the star wars universe. Vader's redemption works because of a few factors, the first one being that it was setup argurably since Ep 5 with the reveal, second that Vader took down the EMPEROR while redeeming himself without any concern of his own safety, and third...Vader died. Thats right, Vader died because thats what had to happen for this story to work because, realistically, had Vader survived, he would have been screwed.
The rebels would arrest him, trial him as a war criminal and he'd spend the rest of his life in a jail cell.
Redemption isnt as simple as "oh Im good now. My bad actions dont matter anymore." There is a reason why most of these redemption arcs tend to end with the death of the redeemed, mostly for the symbolism but also because realistically it wouldnt be as simple as simply changing sides and its all good...
Reva killed A LOT of innocents but apparently she doesnt deserve to get punished for it despite changing her mind only because she saw herself in Luke (somehow).
Modern entertainment killed the concept of redemption and turning bad guys good. Mostly because they dont understand actual redemption.
The best example of it is Kratos, especially at the scene where he gets his blades of chaos back and Athena mocks him over his attempts to change his ways. Kratos sadly admits that he knows he will always be a monster...but that he isnt her monster anymore, showing he truly did change in his own way.
Ironically, they had a redemption setup with Kylo Ren but instead of taking their chance in Ep 8 with it, subverting our expectations in a good way and show us Kylo would now start the path of redemption (probably to stop a now evil Rey but I digress), they chickened out and went for something predictable and stale. And then they redeemed him anyway because these writers are more confused than a headless chicken.
I believe that everyone can change their ways for the better, even evil people, but depending of what they did, it shouldnt be as simple as doing a single good deed. Redemption takes a lot of time and effort, sometimes one's whole lifetime.
I agree redemption shouldn't be an easy thing but Emo Ren pulled a comically absurd amount of genocidal acts of his own free will and killed his own officers just for looking at him funny. He stabbed his own father ffs. He doesn't deserve redemption, especially since he was never sorry for his actions. Hell he could barely explain what he did because he had no motivation other than "being evil is le heckin epic and badass and I hate my parents". Rey asked why he killed his dad in TLJ and he had no fucking clue.
They were just repeating Vader's redemption without understanding why it worked. Anakin had motivation for what he did. Luke wanted to save the father he always admired but never had. Rey wants to save Kylo because she wanted his dick (and because the movie told her to). The only one that makes sense is Han and Leia wanting to redeem their kid because he's their kid, but they completely half ass that too.
Disney fucked up. Mando/Kenobi/Rogue One worked bet when they were member berries and didn't mean anything.
