A sympathy angle? I mean, why not! But he's the guy who proclaimed his administration would have all the answers on COVID and Joe Biden said once people took a bunch of science juice (what is in it? SCIENCE!), people wouldn't get or spread COVID. It is more of the administration making everything a crisis and then ??? and somehow the country going down the toilet with 6, 8, 10 different flushes will make people like them or something? Or feel like they need them to solve the problems they are making?

I understand never letting a crisis go to waste, andcause the problem, provide the solution as a tactic. It is contemporary managerialist politics 101 which the powers that be exploited to the hilt masterfully with the COVID stuff. However, it is tough to do that for 10 different problems at the same time. It just makes the administration look like a fiasco. So much for normalcy and steady hand at the tiller. I don't get it. They keep multiplying the problems and catastrophes and not ever once thinking, "Making a big deal out of everything without resolving the things we're making a big deal out of is just making the public think we're screwing everything up deliberately, incompetently, or a combo of both, so they don't really like this administration anymore."

Zoning used to be a tool to improve overall (urban) well-being and plan future development so it works better.

Today, zoning is permanent. Rezoning anything whatsoever is incredibly difficult because everyone seems to love their low density single family homes and cars [but not other people's cars] and will fight to absurd lengths to make sure nothing ever changes where they live.

By "change," we specifically mean demographically.

Commuting from increasingly faraway exurbs has long been the pressure valve for building new homes for people to live in, but with rising costs of living, this becomes doubly as expensive to do. Plus, there's more and more urban regions where there's just no room to fit faraway exurbs actually within commuting distance.

Yeah, well, it's that or live around joggers, and you can't live around joggers. I mean you literally can't live. They destroy too much infrastructure.

Society does better if people can afford to live close by their work and other daily and weekly destinations if they so desire.

Yeah, but living close to where you work also requires:
  1. Homeless bums don't attack you on the way to work
  2. Nobody breaks into your garage every weekend
  3. Your son doesn't get his jaw broken at school during a chimpout
  4. Your wife doesn't get sexually assaulted when she walks to the store
Most people have no fundamental need to drive around massive distances just to do their daily chores, it's simply forced by zoning. Zoning has become a beast that ensures future development works worse, destroying wealth and opportunities.

Yes, they do. That fundamental reason is not having their environment polluted with schizophrenic bum piss.

If not having zoning laws were so great, everyone who has to move to Houston would love it instead of complaining about what a stinking piss hole it is.

what if you have stuff near stuff _and_ run the bums out of town?

Then the issue becomes if they can get any shit done because of all the opponents they face from all angles.
Looking at the rate old fort holding Democrats are bailing out id say its the same situation on the other side, old democrats get replaced by more hardcore progressive Soros puppets meanwhile the old GOP gets primary'd out by America First Trump appointees.
As old republicans loose complete touch with their voter base and they start getting primary'd out by Trump appointees the remaining fossils will get the message, either get with the plan old man or get the fuck out

Possible, but it's just as likely that he really did finally catch it, since so many other people in and around his administration have caught it.

We're at the point where it's not a question of if you catch COVID, but when.

Least until they see the Federal taxes imposed on cannabis products, on top of state, county, and city taxes - just like alcohol. Probably Federal taxes on growers and processors, likely some sort of FDA regulation, etc. After all this many people will just say, "Fuck it, I'll just get my stuff from Bob like always or grow it myself. Cheaper."
Fact is - “grey“ market weed is better. Same reason moonshine is better… you can taste the lack of taxes. Plus just not anyone can buy it I know the dudes I buy shine from wouldn’t sell to most assholes.

I can't wait until abortions are made federally illegal and people start bragging about "their guy" who can still get you an abortion if you need, and he'll even give you a deal on an eighth of mushrooms afterward.

Edit: black people will naturally have no problem with this, regularly being approached by guys in the park offering to terminate their first pregnancy for free...

"Eyyy yo, girl! You lookin kinda plump! I got those forceps if you need.. Dialator hella clean, knawmean? Get that arm leg leg arm head."

Been thinking about this push to federally legalize weed…

What are the chances that this is the goal?

1) Legalize federally.
2) Order any and all convictions and criminal records caused as a result of marijuana use/possession/distribution to be expunged.
3.) Reap more praise from the nog community, since they will be the ones to largely benefit from #2.

I know they’ve got the nog vote locked in, but they can’t be too careful, especially since they’re seeing the Latino voting bloc gradually slip through their fingers.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say if Biden has covid, he caught it earlier than they are saying. The guy was coughing and saying he had a bad headache when he was in Israel. He comes back, he disappears for three days, not scheduling any public appearances at all. He goes out and says he has cancer, and makes an ass of himself and the next day tests positive and goes back into hiding.

I vaguely remember Antifa getting a bit too close to a hotel where actual important people were at, only to enter a crosswalk and discover all 4 directions suddenly had massive numbers of riot cops who were strangely no longer interested in letting the little faggots go.

Edit: Biden accidentally let it slip he has cancer in a speech today.

Well, now we know how they're gonna 25th him.

Edit: Also, his current plan C is to use an Executive Order to force the legalization of Plan B.

Because they have completely given up on governing and figure they'll just try this "by fiat" thing and hope the SCOTUS lets them this time.
Calling it, he doesn't have dementia, he has brain cancer like McCain, who also showed signs of fucked cognitive ability in public for the last months of his life.
Jews don’t own anything related to cigarrettes.
Why not? Do they have a reaction to tobacco similar to the reaction vampires have to garlic?

I wouldn't say it's impossible for them to push the sympathy angle, but I suspect he probably got it in the wild somewhere. He's most likely going to have it pretty bad since he's not in the best of physical shape in addition to him being a geriatric.

In regards to weed legalization, I would say that probably a lot of nothing is going to happen in the short term. Colorado hit it big by being the first to legalize the stuff, and every state is jumping on ship. Problem is that to get a marijuana license and be a ferally approved dispensary, you have to jump through thousands of hoops. A permit in most states can cost $5,000 (unless you're in a shithole like New Jersey where they charge $20,000 or in Louisiana, where it's a mere $150). Most states would require you (the business owner) to have quite a substantial amount in liquid assets already available. If you cultivate and grow your own marijuana to sell legally, you have to buy more permits yearly, which can cost >$50,000/year. That's not to say that the price of legal marijuana is often higher than street marijuana.

Edit: I just thought of something. What if he's just saying he has Covid to direct away from the cancer gaffe yesterday? What if he actually has cancer but is trying not to make people panic and speculate?

I'm not going to watch it, but no one I care to check on twitter is capping or commenting on the 1/6 hearing tonight, and Tim Pool has MTG on who is doing a good job. MTG just started talking about it and apparently tonight is all about Trump not saying anything for 187 minutes, but I thought that was debunked a while back to being something like 20-30 minutes.

I definitely want it to be regional. Outright prohibition obviously won't work but having less weed in some states works a lot like dry counties. You don't need to have all the negatives of the drug right in your backyard.

Edit: also bourbon is amazing and you are all wrong for liking the wrong drugs.
Why do you people insist on shoving perfectly good likker in to barrels for years to just sit there. If it isn’t good when made it sure ain’t gonna get better with age.

He's either going to drop dead no matter what they can pump him full of due to his age and general health or we'll get proof once and for all that COVID isn't the grim reaper everyone has been saying it was.
Isn't this like the 3rd or 4th time he's gotten covid?

This is like the boy who cried wolf at this point... "I'M FULLY BOOSTED AND VAXXED" he shouts, as his health is somehow fucked over by the very thing the jabs are "supposed" to protect him from.

Why would anyone still believe the jabs do anything positive at this point when the guy who's been #1 in shoving this shit down people's throats isn't even safe from it?
3rd or 4th White House person, IIRC.
The more about you that I hear the more of a chad you become. Working in oil fields, being in the military, etc etc.
I doubt he ever worked in oil fields proper. But he was deployed to Desert Storm and the Iraqis setting the wells on fire as they retreated is infamous.
