This is my thought too. Of course it would be great to see Nader rot away in jail, but I don’t think it will happen. If he gets any time from all this it may be a few months or a couple years..tops. I mean, he only got 2yrs for stabbing a person. This is a bit of a stretch but my only frame of reference to Canadian law is the murder of Tim McLean in which a disturbed individual beheads a young man on a Greyhound. The murderer now walks free.
I watch this shitshow through reaction channels, a few of them seem to think Nader will end up in jail. If the law is this lenient for a horrific very public slaying, is there any chance for him to truly end up in prison for a substantial amount of time? Genuine question, I personally don't see it happening.
Some countries are way too lenient with criminal punishment, like the UK. There’s no death penalty, and you have to commit an evil heinous crime (like child murder) to even get a life sentence. I think Canada is similar this way (your reference of McLeans murder is a good example of this).
I’m in the opinion of when our justice system fails (which seems to happen a lot), then street justice is the next best option.
One good thing that’s come from these clips being leaked - there are thousands of people who watched it and there is a lot of anger now pointing in Naders direction. We’ve seen it before - someone takes it offline and takes it upon themselves to “correct” the situation.
Im just saying, if I were Nader..I would watch my back while going outside, especially alone. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets the shit kicked out of him or worse. Fingers crossed.
