Classic story we would hear at family get togethers was Grandpa used to fix stoves. He wouldn't work for black people though. So when he wasn't sure if the customer calling was black or not, he would ask them how many burners were on the stove. If the person said, "Fo" he would tell them he only worked on three burner stoves.

Grandpa made me promise that I would never have a black girlfriend.

Literally the only black in my school, from one of the few black families in the cushy white town... grew up and was arrested for armed robbery of a convenience store. I think he was larping in a weird way honestly, he thought that was hardcore and cool. Yeah cool is going to prison and having a record over a few hundred bucks.

I actually just remembered an earlier story.

My mom was talknig about "the gars".

I asked her what a "gar" was. I was a pretty smart kid, so she quizzed me. "What words do you know that have 'gar' in them?"

Nigger Toes were an actual brand of nuts and the name stuck for some people just like Jell-O for gelatin desserts, Allen Key for Hex keys, and Jeep for SUVs. It's likely both racism (being ok saying the word despite knowing it is offensive) and nostalgia which causes them to still use the term.

The guy had a chimpout in the street while being arrested and had a heart attack. He wasn't being arrested because Chauvin and pals didn't like the look of him. He had commited a crime.
