If you look at their photos of adjoining properties you can see it's there too, it's just in amongst the grass. My guess would be a combination of being unpalatable and just being the only plant with deep enough roots to still be alive when it was given the chance to grow again.


Actually in this video you can see it's a few different woody shrubs.

Thanks for the close-up, it definitely looks like a mix of Ephedra species and even tougher woody plants (the lower, darker green ones). I'd agree with your idea that these scrub bushes grew back from deep roots while the grasses were all torn up.
Damn though, if those starving alpaca were munching down high doses of ephedrine... the poor buggers.

Jarrod is my favorite member of the tranch by a country mile. The rest of them are disgusting autogynephiles incapable of running a ranch, but Jarrod is just good old fashioned weird. The ranch is supposed to be for troons only, but I get the feeling that for Jarrod, this is just the most convenient cultlike hyper-rural compound out of the many, many cultlike hyper-rural compounds that Jarrod could have chosen from. It's damp paper towels and he's growing weed. You start by putting the seeds in damp paper towels and sealing them in a baggy like a mini greenhouse It's super easy mine had 2+ inch long roots in like 3 days.
I'm not even going to ask if it's legal to grow there. You're not allowed to smoke weed and have guns and clearly they get away with that so nothing will happen.

If you want to defend yourself against Earl, be a turtle. Put up fences, toss some extra layers in the buildings up to window height, practice shooting down range from cover, drill in quick defenses repair, first aid, etc.

Also if you can fire on the invaders from an elevated and/or surrounded position, and build out the area so that any invader is forced into the lethal area, that's good. Look at the floor plans for Koresh's Waco compound. When those idiot BATF agents just barged up to the front door, there was a U-shaped upper story directly over them where they could be fired down on from three directions. They didn't stand a chance.

It could be weed if weed requires this process, but there are other species that need to be cold stratified too.

I would be surprised if he actually manages to grow a plant (which of course it is weed and not something more useful, like vegetables), given the fact that their "farm" looks more like a playground in Chernobyl. But it would be pretty ironic at the same time.
