Escape From New York: Louis Rossmann Edition - Hopefully he does not make Texas a bughive

Louis normally very deliberate with his word choice. Between that and this video from last month, he no longer owns all of his company.
I suspect that the "employer" Louis mentioned is this guy:

He put at least $1m into Louis' right to repair non-profit, and is based in Austin.

It's obviously none of our business what their business relationship looks like, or what Louis' new role will be, but I'd be surprised if this dude wasn't involved in some capacity. The fact that one of the conditions of his new role is the relocation of Rossmann Repair Group, rather than telling Louis to shut it down and work exclusively for his new employer, adds weight to this theory.

I think he suffers from something worse than SAD. At the end of every video he makes it wouldn't be surprising if he just whipped out a gun and blew his brains out. Interesting guy though
His voice in many videos feels like he is trying to be very clear, there can be no confusion, about why he is going to go on a Falling Down style rampage as soon as the video ends.

Hes great at what he does, but listening to his voice is like taking a cheese grater to my ear drums. im glad he gets out of cuck york though

The dude is a hard worker, truly, able to call out bullshit while living with it at the same time. I've tuned out any video he has his girlfriend or whoever else that isn't him in it, because you can't mix and match with his level of content, it just doesn't work out.

I'm disappointed that he and Erika broke up. It seemed like they had quite a bit of chemistry together.

And as previous commenters have pointed out, Louis did in fact get an apartment in New Hampshire. It's probably in or around Manchester, seeing as a good chunk of his IRL meetups have been in that area. Manchester's pretty pricey, but nowhere near NYC-levels yet.

I always found this guy curious, because he obviously hates Apple as much as the average Linux user yet he makes a living from repairing their products
Forgot to reply to this earlier, but Louis explained it in an earlier video that he repairs Apple products because they're limited in scope - there's only a few devices that Apple releases every year. He theoretically could expand his business to include Android and PC repairs, but it's too costly to buy almost every single spare part that non-Apple products may use, and a lot of it probably will go to waste. Focusing on Apple products makes it so that he has the spare parts already on hand.

Plus, it's always good to kick Apple in the nuts when he can do a better repair job than their official repair service and for cheaper.

I hope it all works out for him. He for sure has a bit of the tism but seems like a good guy overall. I enjoyed his videos walking around NYC and raging at the ridiculous real estate and the city overall. A lot of people have a rosy view of places like NY from TV and movies but from the ground it looks like a rat infested dumpster.

I miss when his channel was mostly just repair videos/streams and a look at his business operating on an average day. I think he got too blackpilled by covid/right to repair legislation/relationships/NYC being an expensive shithole.
He mentioned about a week ago that he wanted to delete his entire YouTube channel (with his videos on Odysee remaining up) and make 10 different channels with a specific focus (eg: one would be repair, one would be real estate, one would be for cats, etc.) due to declining interest in his channel and the terrible response:view ratio. I know he has a secondary channel where he does more random videos and livestreams. I'd rather him not delete his YouTube channel, though.

I haven't watch a ton of his stuff but from what I've seen he seems ok but autistic. Hope he does well and doesn't bring any of the NYC retardation with him, though unlike Joe Rogan he seems much more normal.

I've been following Louis off and on for eight years now, and it's good to see him finally get out of NYC. Checking on his recent videos shows he's enjoying driving instead of riding his bike, and has realized that nature exists outside of the cracks in a concrete slab, so I think he would be happy anywhere else but NYC. It's a shame Erika and him split, maybe she likes the bugman hive too much; from watching the videos of Louis exploring outside of NYC, she didn't seem too happy. Regardless, Louis has stated that he gets a fair amount of work solely through mail order, so he should be fine working wherever he decides to set up shop.

IMHO this had more influence on him leaving NY than anything:
You would almost have to be a fool to wish to continue to operate a business in NY after all of that nonsense...

Apparently I exist solely to ruin your day, strap in lol:

This guy is all over the place as far as I can tell. Scoped out Florida and seemed to love it from the 1 video I saw though was so obviously out of his element seeing grass and non-domestic animals that aren't rats.
Then he got a place in New Hampshire or something??
Now he's going to just move to Texas?
Some of the time I thought he was going to move to Jersey.

From the comments section of Louis' latest YT community post (archive).
1. No, neither Louis nor the shop have been bought out.
2. The shop's manager & employees have the shop's work load fully under control, leaving Louis time to follow other pursuits.
3. He & the shop are moving to Texas; a few employees have also pledged to move.
4. Because he isn't needed at the shop, he took a job with a foundation that supports creative thinkers and ground-breaking projects.
The last point supports my hypothesis that Eron Wolf is Louis' new employer. Speaking of which, the community post itself is interesting:

I still have no idea who this Eron Wolf cat is or how he made his billions, but he seems almost too based to be true.

Huh.

Texans might actually give a shit about right to repair though, but maybe only if Rossman repaired John Deeres.
Right to repair’s greatest enemy is its own “advocates” who aren’t happy with being able to buy parts and tools and get access to manuals but instead insist that things be designed how they like in order to be more “repairable”. See all the bitching about Apple selling OEM parts and tools, it got so bad that Rossman had to call out his own side for being retards. If they stopped trying to backseat design devices, they could make real progress; it’s a lot easier to mandate publicizing service manuals than it is to try to legally describe what “repairability” means in a way that doesn’t kill all innovation.
