I don't ignore you, Polly. Well, I'm not giving you shit. But you do provide me many laughs.

Uh, it's been awhile since I've used a food bank, but I don't remember ever getting anything that was frozen or needed to be frozen to keep from going bad. Mostly canned veggies, peanut butter, pasta, rice, and bread. Maybe tuna. Much better than nothing, though.

"Josh can't eat this Barilla pasta! He needs Spaghetti Os!"

I used to use the food banks, I’ve gotten some frozen meat and frozen meals before. Nothing freezer burnt though and honestly, if I had no money or food, I’d take the freezer burnt meat, it’s safe just not as tasty. They almost always give you dried beans, rice and pasta which isn’t the best for Josh but it’s filling and can go a long ways,
$150 for seven days worth of groceries. That's $21 a day for food.

Jesus Christ, Queen Sheba. Do you need tanned manservants to fan you with palm leaves while you feast too?
That’s an insane amount of food for 2 people. My family of five probably spends that a month but we aren’t broke and begging for food lol.

Granted, it depends on the area and what is bought or donated, but I've seen a YouTube video of someone volunteering at a food bank in Boise and her preparing meals from a basket that the food bank provided during the early parts of the pandemic. It included fucking chickpea pasta. I'm not saying that Polissa is gonna get chickpea pasta but it goes to show that in some ways food banks are changing.

Polissa turns her nose if she doesn't get exactly what she wants or when she wants it. Her mom baked her her "favorite cake" but she threw a bitchfit because muh Red 40 when she's regularly consuming shit with it. I don't think her brain told her that the birthday wings were bad. She admitted she liked them. I think she just wanted sugary sauced food, hence the sloppy joes the next day.

The thing is also, we've seen her receipts. She's not spending money on expensive or bigass amounts of meat. It's mostly soda and family sized boxes of convenience foods. The Jimmy Dean bowls alone are about $5 each.

"The food banks food was as expected. Food we don't eat"
Must not be that hungry then. I don't understand how she thinks she has the luxury of just "not eating" certain foods. It's a little different for Josh since he's diabetic, but Polissa should be able to eat whatever's offered. I wonder what free food she's turned her nose up at because "she doesn't eat that".

Without telling too much, I run a bunch of free pantries in the community, and we get food bank food constantly. I have also talked to food bank recipients extensively and it's uncommon to find anything outright spoiled. Sometimes they are just over expiration, but just cans. Most of the stuff is dried or shelf stable for a while. A lot of basics, not many extras but definitely worth the hassle. Either Polissa is just in an extra shitty area, or she's lying.

She's lying, or exaggerating. Even the worst food banks get fresh/frozen donated food out the week they get it. They don't hold onto things long enough for them to start going off. Unless people donated food that was already rancid and somehow the volunteers didn't notice. Food banks give you weird shit... I got a 20 pound bag of frozen Burger King chicken nuggets at one once. But they give you what they have, and they have no control over what's donated. That's what annoys me about Polly, I think. She's so critical of these groups that exist only to help people, because they don't give her entitled ass exactly what she wants. Whining about having to wait in line at the food bank is insane. She's lucky she has a car to wait in. I've been at these places and watched families get off the bus, and go stand in line, in the cold, rain, heat. People who have a genuine need do what they have to. Entitled moo cows like Polly just scream and throw fits.

Bitch making poors look bad when most of us out here making our own Hot Pockets out of discarded pizza crusts and roadkill

Also, I was wondering how the devil they pay for the sheer amount of data they waste on twitter, then realized that they're probably on some family plan with her geriatric mother. That must be so infuriating for the rest of the family if true

I'd always assumed they were just leeching off someone's router

It's so unfair and puzzling that an individual with such a delightful, winning personality is being ignored!

It's mind-boggling that two people need $150 for enough food for a week. There are entire families who don't spend that much for groceries in a month. Jesus Christ, these two need to get over themselves.

Right? Especially living somewhere with frequent farmer's markets. But they don't cook or prepare ingredients, it's only processed food that can be nuked or boiled.

I heard that the price of food is going to explode even further, so I'm crossing my fingers for a WE'RE EATING CAT FOOD HELLLP arc :)

My family used the foodbank as needed when I was growing up, and it was shelf-stable basics. Once in a while, if they had it, you'd get frozen food or a half-dozen eggs or root vegetables (potatoes, carrots, squash), maybe apples. The only bad experience I had with it was a jar of "low carb" peanut butter that hadn't been checked: someone had bought it, opened the seal, taken a spoonful out of it, and then put the lid on and donated it.

Even stuff my household didn't use, like the giant bags of skim milk powder, we could pass along to or trade with a neighbour or a family member who'd use it. (ISTG, my mother had a whole underground economy going with the neighbours, like "your kids won't eat that? Mine will. Here, yours like this, right?")

My dumb leaf ass is envious of the longer growing season Polissa has access to in Alabama, like she must have fresh, good food just about year round vs my like... five months of the year.

In all that time she's ranted on Twitter and begged online, she could have made an appointment for the food bank.

As for Christianity and religion, she's talking out of her ass. I've gotten food from Christians or other churches. Some even gave extra food. The point is to be charitable and help the needy.
Has she even studied Christianity?

No chance of that. I don't think she'd ever buy anything the pets could eat.

It's really offensive that she calls herself a "rescue".

(That said, while Polissa's drawing skills are rudimentary at best and she has no eye for composition, she at least keeps her colors bright and clean, and tries to make tidy, visually appealing work. Most lolcow artists act like they're a year old and smearing their own feces on the wall above their crib again, and their art looks like it. That, or they make shitty drawings colored with markers that look like they were drawn during a particularly boring Algebra class by a 14-year-old. Polissa's work is by no means good, but she's practically a savant when compared to other cows.)
I have seen art a lot like Polissa’s…done by amateurs at those places where everyone drinks wine and paints the same thing. In fact, I have a friend that taught at one of those places. There’s no reason why Polissa couldn’t do something like that — there’s no way she can e-beg on Twitter all day yet not be able to set up, teach, and take down a four-hour Wine Mom Date Night class.

Not to pl but offer my perspective: This happens a lot, animals are given more value than people like Po'Lissa, so she gets ass pats from people who don't have to smell her ammonia stink in the grocery store or peel dead kittens off her trailer floor after she's dead from some horde-related preventable illness. A lot of hoarders, including animal hoarders, have some flavor of cluster b and view their situation through the lens of delusion. They treat the animals like shit, don't notice when they suddenly disappear, are blind to their health/condition, but when it's time to remove them from the home, holy shit, you've never seen anyone kick off like an animal hoarder. Police are involved much of the time and volunteers/welfare officers are keen to keep cops there to make sure Crazy doesn't come strutting out with a gun.

I haven't experienced this personally, thank god, but have heard stories about people blowing their brains out after their menagerie of mistreated, scraggly fur babies are rescued by actual rescuers. They are just so far gone that they can't understand, and I'm not a medical professional, that's on you, Doc, but from what I've heard from people who are, it's nigh on impossible to treat them, even with family support and specialized therapy. It's something their loved ones have to keep an eye on for the rest of their lives, otherwise the fuzzy holocaust will repeat itself.

tbh I've wondered about toxoplasmosis with this cow, too.
