Dylan Mulvaney is an American musical theater performer who transitioned to save his career from the inevitable fate of an ageing twink at just 24. As 2022 would have it, he found fame most theater gays could only dream delivering insights on ‘girlhood’ on TikTok as a caricature of a plucky 1960s debutante. DAYS OF BEING A GIRL
Day 1 of Being a Girl firmly establishes Dylan's character, quirky, relatable transgal, Will and Grace level inoffensiveness. From a commercial point of view it's a solid proposition, nostalgic, family-friendly and super positive, accessible enough to sell troon to the previously underserved Disney girls demographic. STYLE
Dylan’s personal brand resembles a Bratz cartoon about a 60s gal-singer in the big city, or a mid-century drag queen as designed by IKEA, or for the fashion sperg, a mix of Ann-Margret, Lady Miss Kier and Fran Drescher in The Nanny (source for that wild reference here).
MENSTRUATION AMBASSADOR?
Day 12: TAMPONS is Dylan's first foray into every MtF's area of unnecessary interest. He first jokes about anal insertion, then explains that a (fictional) woman asked him for a tampon from the next stall, so now he will always carry them because 'women supporting women'. [Link | Archive]
A couple of days later he teases a sponsorship from Tampax. This seems to be all there is to the matter thankfully, which suggests it was an attention-seeking ploy. [Link | Archive]
Further evidence that Dylan is being rather cynically provocative for the engagement comes in the form of a return to the subject of period products on Day 75. In a trans take on tampons Dylan unboxes for the first time and plays with tampons and pads like a small child, in a combination of wonder and bewilderment tinged with horror. Days of Girlhood has spawned both parody and homage, the former of which resulted in a fairly well known dogpile on a terf, which was a multi-way scuffle between GCs, trans and a male feminist type associate of an established cow: slapfights and simps.
OTHER GIRLHOOD
The sheer comedic absurdity of Dylan's physical presence is never more apparent than when set against the great outdoors, so he takes ample opportunity to flap around shrubbery or scamper about rocky paths wearing ankle-breaker heels.

RESPONDING TO CRITICISM

Early on he picks out suggestions that he’s causing offense to women, and responds with heartfelt apologetics shortly followed by 'but I’mma do it anyway', which can be seen as early as Day 2. There area also a couple of responses to people who don’t believe TWAW, for which he summons all his twinkish powers of bless-your-heart passive aggression to make them look retarded. Not hard since he also picks the most obviously flawed posts to respond to.
JEFFREY MARSH
Semi-human rainbow predator alert Jeffrey Marsh appeared alongside Dylan on Day 80, though it’s unclear what association they have beyond this instance of mutual opportunism. Jeffrey Marsh has also been rumored to have a brand relationship with a menstrual product, but it seems like that wasn’t entirely accurate. Perhaps when Dylan describes him as a role model, he's referring to that.

BOY DYLAN
Dylan’s early life reads like the archetype of an open and accepted musical theater homosexual. He was a ‘gregarious’ boy, dancing and possibly modeling from an early age, and went on to study performing arts. He was born in 1996 likely in San Diego to parents Jim and Lorna Mulvaney. Attended the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where his flamboyant fagatronics and celeb selfie habit were well established.
