Woman with Aspergers Shot by Police

>Has a knife and runs at somebody with it
>Assaults Police officer, by throwing a helmet at him
>Gets shot

Who'd have thought that would be the result? People like to jump down policemen's throats for having the audadity to make the split-second decisions that save their lives from these sort of people nowadays.

This. I have no idea why we're automatically obligated to feel bad for minorities and retards if they charge at police officers with knives. What the fuck did they think was going to happen?

unless she had something else, there's no point in playing the SHE HAD A MENTUL DISBULUTU IT WAS MURDURRR
[except clicks]
because if you have aspergers, there's no excuse.
you should be that badly impaired that you run at cops with a knife
i mean, maybe as a child. but that's why your parents/caretakers teach you to stop it
you're not so disabled that you can't learn this shit.

>"My daughter died for asking for help," Jacobs' mom, Stacia, said Friday.
>"Two officers attempted to talk to Danielle through an open door in a hallway they were standing in and Danielle came to the door holding a large chef's-style cutting knife," Flores said. "They told Danielle to drop the knife. She lunged and extended the knife at the officers at a close distance."

strange way to ask for help

Was it ever confirmed how many shots were unloaded? If there were two officers and there are more than two bullets in her the cops used an excessive amount of force.

Not really. If you force the cops to shoot you, they're going to empty a damn clip into you as often as not.

there is a chance that you can still go after them after being shot
there is a chance the person being shot has some form of protection
there is a chance the first shot might miss

in a situation, it's better to fire a few times than risk being stabbed

One bullet is enough to detain somebody, if you unload an entire clip onto somebody for no reason then you shouldn't be handling a gun.

You don't shoot someone to "detain" them. You shoot them to incapacitate them. That means ensuring that there is no possibility they will continue whatever forced you to shoot them.

This is very often fatal. Cops don't "shoot to wound" in the vast majority of cases. They are not sharpshooters.

Well, that's what I mean by detain. Using the word incapacitate makes more sense in the context of police shootings, I suppose.

It just doesn't make sense to me why cops feel the need to be so trigger happy. There have been lots of deaths that wouldn't have happened if cops didn't choose to discharge their entire gun onto someone. Then again, guns are more complicated than that and are very hard to use properly so I guess I could just be an retard.

Two cops should be able to easily restrain an out of shape aggressor with a knife. He'll even one slightly experienced officer should be able to handle that shit.

They're not there to gamble on whether or not they're lucky grappling with some knife wielding lunatic. Maybe 9 times out of 10 that will work. Maybe it isn't their first rodeo. Maybe their 1 time out of 10 comes up.

It's their job at that point to ensure their odds of surviving are as near as 100% as possible, and emptying a clip into the armed aggressor is one way of doing that.

It's not trigger happy to shoot someone charging you with a knife at close quarters. That's why they have guns.
