Imagine going through childhood and puberty with no friends, not even playground playmates or "hi how are ya?" friends.
I know it's nothing new but just wanted to emphasize that "difficult" kids end up with difficult lives, even with families who care and fight for them. He may have ended up hanging himself even in the best of situations and Archie definitely didn't have that. Hope he's RIP

I've got a kid like this, and you've nailed it.

You do the best you can for them, make sure they get the help they need, but when the problem lies between the ears sometimes we can't fix it. It's tragic to see an innocent creature like a child brought low by their own neurology, worse to be helpless to fix it for them.

I know of more than one parent in my circumstances whose had to come home to a child suspended by the neck, words fail me here when considering it could very well happen to me next.

It's entirely OT but the ink on the text looks far too settled in for this to be a recent (i.e. in tribute to THIS Archie) bit of work. Weird shit.

Has he died yet? I know it’s a given, but technically they can’t really start the murder investigation until… y’know. Until then it’s an accident or child abuse investigation. Whatever the Britbong equivalent to DFACS is. Y’know the nice people that shut down the child grooming gangs…. Oh right!

while I am sure there are some differences between britbongland police investigations and the States, I am also sure that their are not that many differences. I’ve had the misfortune for being the first responding EMS for three underaged teenagers hanging themselves. And let me tell you, what happened afterwards was some of the worst experiences of my professional career from dealing with the Homicide Detectives. I and my crews spent days going through every minuscule detail of each scene with the Zdetectives. Over and over as if we were involved. Keep in mind in all cases we entered after the uniforms. We had to provides records of everything we used on the scene. Catalog entries, invoices or PO’s. Samples. We had to go through everything we touched. Everything we saw. And God forbid we didn’t know. Because you know we were a little distracted by the whole not breathing child to take in the scenery. And god forbid somebody dropped a hemostat. Or oxygen tubing. (EMS is not known for neatness).

I say this because in my experience the Homicide guys are not going to take Hollie’s ever fluid description of what happened all that well. They are going to want a clear concise answer to how a kid ended up hung. They will demand forensic detail on how he was cut down. They will not be polite about it.
