Noticed a particular trend in YouTube just now of several chuubas/utaites dropping "Villain Vibes" covers:



Actually wondered if this was a new developing meta as a cover song in the space but then I remembered that these are actually entries for the cover contest that Amalee announced. Prizes are mostly merch and an exclusive one-of-a-kind art print signed by Amalee & Calli but I think what most of these chuubas/folks are gunning for is this:

"Of course, the overall winner, artist picks and honorable mentions will be showcased in our stream..."

It's a great chance to get clout and attention, especially with Calli herself very likely being on the stream. The last time she talked about some channels and chuubas on a remix/cover contest for one of her songs brought a ton of eyeballs to small artist/chuuba channels that got featured like Ririsya and Boogey Vox. And here I was wondering at the back of my mind why Futakuchi Mana made a cover of it considering it's not her usual material.

Gura seems to prefer the 'organic' collabs in games like these and so does EN2. My rrat is she doesn't like scheduling collabs because she feels like she overshadows the collab partner.
