Better Call Saul

Meanwhile, is there anything in the story that indicates anyone is even looking for him? Anyone who would want to kill him is dead and buried (or dissolved or blown up). Anyone important he knew anything about is also dead. Unless they found Howard and connected Saul to his death, who is even looking for him? The DEA? The network Walter White started is dead at this point, along with its principals.
Before the return, there was a special episode of American Greed based on Better Call Saul which gave us insight into the post-Breaking Bad perception of Saul as well as being a reminder of what had happened up to then in the show because it'd been so long, even bringing in some BCS characters like the the other lawyers after the fact to sort of reflect on his career and turn to crime. He's been painted in-universe pretty much as Walt's right hand man throughout the whole ordeal, possibly even more than Jesse, and with Walt dead, he'd be the number one person the super-pissed-off feds would want to crucify to hopefully save some sort of face for how hard they were embarrassed by Walt being the BIL and friend of a DEA agent, and Gus having completely played them even harder than Walt.

What remains to be seen is if they'd actually have enough to convict him on, as I figure Saul to have known what he was doing when we saw him for the last time chronologically in the BrBa era, sanitizing his office and destroying all evidence. That's where I see some possibility for Gene to decide on one last hurrah, defending himself in court, because there might actually be less of a case against him than one might think.

I hate that slimy DA so much. Note that Schweikart is a class act who doesn't take the opportunity to shit on Jimmy even though he had every reason to.

Not only that, it also clarified that no matter what happens or how much he tries, he's still Jimmy. E10 also has shown every side of his character that built him up even until now. Just ignore haters (they are still here after 6 seasons), some people just have the attention spawn of a squirrel after watching too much capeshit.

one, Armani suits and run.
two, Air Jordan shoes for you.
three, linen shirts for free.
four, cashmere sweaters out the door.
five, patagonias to survive.
six, swanky sweatsuits in the mix.
seven, spendy dresses sent from heaven.
nine, pricey lingerie is mine.
ten, calfkin briefcases for men.
twelve, luxury pumps to unshelve.
eighteen, Kate Spade's queen.
nineteen, Calvin leather's on the scene.
This episode would go from like a 5-7 to a 10/10 if Jeff stole Yeezies
I think the episode slotting is a little bizarre. If this episode had been 6x01 instead of 6x10, there'd be a far warmer reception to it imo. I think after three extremely tight and plot-filled episodes back to back, people expect the whole rest of the show to go that way, so naturally an episode like this would raise some eyebrows.

Personally, I love it. It's pure uninterrupted Gene for 50 minutes, pulling a con which he's 100% dedicated to, unlike the one with Howard. Even managed to sneak a Walter White reference in there, bravo vince.
It does leave the show in a weird place though where I'm completely unsure what they even want to show anymore. I've read the leaks so I know that there's more Gene stuff coming, but for the most part it seems like every loose end has been tied up.
i feel like they didnt make it the premiere because they wanted that fake out and didnt want people put off by a full gene ep as a premiere but building it up i feel was worse. Still, a better place to put it than even closer to the end for example

Where can I read the leaks btw?

Well I guess that was a decent episode. I will say that my asshole was clenched like a hydraulic press at that heist segment, good god. They managed to make the show unpredictable enough (with 3 episodes left) that I actually believed he would get caught.

Calling it now

Episode 9 was the "end" of Better Call Saul since he fully embraced Saul. The rest of this stuff is going to be filler and epilogue of Gene learning to live with his life or embrace who he is or whatever. We won't see Kim again. Fanboys will call it bold and praise Gilligan for subverting expectations and such.

Yeah Gene not having the "will make it to Breaking Bad" plot armor really made it feel way more tense than any of the other schemes so far. The whole rest of the show is a blank canvas with like three episodes unaccounted for so it easily could have actually resulted in him actually getting caught for once

We know that Walt and Jesse are coming back. An ending of Jimmy living alone as Gene forever is way too punishing for Vince Gilligan who does typically happy faggy endings to please the audience. Fan service of Walt killing Nazis and various characters like Jason or Freddy Kruger. We also need the payoff of the tin of diamonds that Jimmy has. And how he will likely use them to rehabilitate his image with the fans. Like how Walt offered the Nazis his money to spare Hank. Jimmy will maybe use his diamonds to pay various people back. I would be shocked if he used the diamonds for selfish purposes.

And Kim will return in the end to see Jimmy again. Like how Walt and Jesse were together one last time. Possibly she will have an entire episode like Jesse had the El Camino movie. El Kimino. No way that Vince Gilligan has the balls to give Jimmy an unhappy brutal ending where he lives in misery until death. Nor will he leave the last moment we see Kim being her just dumping Jimmy. It would be too strong of writing and Gilligan usually sticks to traditional endings and writing so fans can root for the main characters like a Marvel Capeshit movie. "Go Walt go!! Slay those Nazis!!!". Like Arya using her stupid dagger Walt could use his silly machine gun contraption. Fans love that kind of thing.

Jimmy and Kim's relationship is the core of the story, she will definitely appear again. BB and BCS have never been about pointlessly "subverting expectations" to own the normies. The particulars of the plot are often surprising, but the entire story won't suddenly take a weird left turn.

I'm betting we see

- one or two entire episode centered around Saul in the Breaking Bad timeframe, to re-contextualize his life after BCS show
- one entire episode dedicated to Kim, showing maybe some flashbacks but also her post BCS life
- one final episode tying everything together

Personally while I DO NOT like the idea of Gene and Kim reuniting, they are bad people who do not deserve happiness, I would not be surprised if that happens. Although it would be hilarious if like Gus' illegitimate Argentinian cartel whore trans faggot kid shows up and blows them away to setup a spinoff, "Los Pollos Hermanos the next generation".

Sorry to use an SJW cuckshit meme but:
- when white guy murders mexican cartel heads 👍🤗😘😏😅
- when white guy murders neonazis (they made it political) 😡😤🤬😖😠
It's not like race-based prison gangs are even really political. They're more a matter of self-defense that just happens to be along racial lines, as well as a form of organized crime both in and outside prison. Also it would be ridiculous for BB not to end with some ridiculous Heisenberg Gambit involving a crazy contraption.

Fuck like ive seen couple of times on this thread people saying that Saul doesnt deserve to get away with what hes done, like what did he do? He hasnt killed anyone except like a spic in the desert. Chuck killed himself paranoid about his brother being the cause of all his misfortunes, Howard died because Lalo decided to teleport into JIMMY'S flat, and even connection to Walt can be explained by that JIMMY was basically his lawyer. Most hes done himself is ruining a life for an elderly person for like a month, destroying Howards and Chucks reputation, both of which werent even saint or angels some motherfuckers here make them out to be, and maybe some malpractice.
Edit: me reatard

Nigga do you forget the part where he helped facilitate the activities of what ended up becoming the biggest meth operation in the world?

I don't know what show you've been watching if you after both BB and BCS you still think that Jimmy is a good boi.

Like security guards who eat with their backs to the monitors rather than sit on the other side of the table. Are you kidding me?
was a story i heard once, con man got picked up by FBI for running scams, this was back in like, 1980s-1990s, FBI wanted the conman to teach em how he was doin' all his scams, since they were mostly online.

conman showed em for the first two weeks or so, but then the agents got bored and apparently just started watching porn or other shit while they were supposed to be watching him, so conman went right back to running cons in the middle of a federal building, because the agents couldn't give a shit to check what the fuck he was actually doing.

if you think human incompetence is unbelievable you ain't been in the world much. would not have surprised me if that fat security guard had been facing the cams, head down in his phone, and still didn't notice, honestly.

same people who bitch about Lalo teleporting to Germany now mad we had to sit through an episode of Saul planning a heist every step of the way.

And that can be tied to Saul how? He wasnt involved in that same operation aside of basic networking and legal advice, which DEA likely wasnt even aware about, making him the least priority target. Especially with all members of said drug operation dead or gone, there is not a lot to tie criminal lawyer to the whole operation. Unless some drugdealer shoots Saul dead, hes clean and aint gonna pay for that.
