Two 8-month-old pit bulls that were loose in Nanaimo attacked several children, severely injuring at least one. Other people that came to aid the children were also injured.

The children were playing in a yard at the house of one of their friends. The dogs were from somewhere else in the neighborhood and had been cited for being at large previously.

One of the owners of the dogs came and got the dogs but did not stick around. The news interviewed the other owner, a Dangerhair that looked to be in her late 40s or early 50s. While she was devastated at what her dogs had done, she said to the reporter, "People are saying, look at this from the prospective of a parent, well, these dogs are my kids, too," and then she broke down crying.

It was later reported both dogs were euthanized, as there have been other incidents prior to this one, and due to the severity of the injuries the one particular child sustained.

To the dangerhair dog owner I would have to say, "If these dogs were your KIDS, you did a lousy job of raising them. Thank heavens you didn't spawn any of your own."

It's incredibly sad to me that more people don't think this way. The prevailing opinion from people I've spoken to IRL and most especially from what I've seen online is almost always in favor of "Pitbull rights" and the rights of their owners. Always with the victim-blaming first - i.e. "person should have known better than to startle, run by, excite, be near, be in the vicinity of the pit" - and then with the idea that "it's not the breed it's how they're raised" and when challenged on that one with cases where the dogs were never abused and raised up as pups in a loving home they go for their final "argument": Racism.

Yup! "Racism." I've legit seen people, notably Leftie progressives, compare people who want pitbulls banned to racists who "hate black people." It's pit defenders comparing these mutant dogs to human fucking beings - blacks in particular! So who is the fucking "racist" here?


Ok, retard, I'll bite (no pun intended). The sidewalks are for human pedestrians, on two feet. This includes children, babies, adults, the elderly, etc. Any animal of any kind - leashed or not - is there by the grace/will of the people. This also rightfully excludes retards on bicycles, scooters, skateboards, segways and motor vehicles of any kind. The sidewalks are for walking human beings and walking human beings only (besides baby carriages/wheelchairs, of course - because don't be a bigger tard and try to make that argument, don't even).

Leash laws exist for this reason. But whether or not the owned animal is on a leash is actually redundant. Leash laws exist for beasts like dogs and other large/dangerous animals to assure they will be kept under the owner's control at ALL TIMES. If you, as the animal owner, take your beast out into the public it is your responsibility at all times to keep your beast controlled. It is not the responsibility of the general public to LOOK OUT FOR YOU. Fucking. Selfish. Narcissists.

I could also go back to what I said earlier, about sidewalks being meant for walking pedestrians, and walking pedestrians ONLY. It is not OUR responsiblity to be looking out for some asshole on a bike or skateboard mowing us down from behind because they DO NOT BELONG on a side"walk" in the first place!

To even go so far as to victim-blame a pedestrian for "being clueless" is the height of mental retardation. Would you ACTUALLY blame an elderly man for not being entirely aware of his surroundings at all times? Should he have been able to "see" a potentially dangerous dog acting out and HE should have avoided it?

Would you blame a little girl at a bus stop, waiting to go to school for not being "aware enough" of dogs that may attack her? She shoulda "crossed to the other side of the street"?!

And of course, by your own logic, this is perfectly fine behavior as well:

A 70-year-old Long Island woman was killed after she was viciously attacked by her family’s pit bull in Albertson on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

Marina Verriest’s husband returned home from work at around 1 p.m. and discovered his wife’s mutilated body being dragged through the backyard by their 7-year-old dog, according to Nassau County Police and neighbors.

It’s not clear when the attack began, but police said when the husband arrived at home, “the dog was still eating on the body.”

The husband immediately called the police. When they arrived, the dog turned and charged at the first officer on the scene, who then opened fire, killing the dog.
