Don't even get me started on the damage IBM has done to the FOSS scene by acquiring RedHat.
SystemD is now in ubuntu and fedora, fucking feds. everything's gonna be monitored going forward.
They're just getting back to the company's roots by implementing systems to track and categorize undesirable people.

Virtually all accidental gun deaths happen because people don't know how to use a gun. The reason why she doesn't want people to learn proper firearm handling is because she wants more people to die.
Growing up a school bus driver in the area was shot when his dog jumped on his pickup seat and fired his rifle, apparently loaded with the safety off. He was fine but it sure was proof of stupidity.

I cant see them going hard to protect a CAT team member. They arent detail so they dont have first hand dirt. And while they are valuable they are basically special forces operators whose job is to get in a helicopter and murder anyone attempting to attack a designee. So they would be the SS with heavy machine guns and anti tank weapons and in full body armor instead of the business suits.

How the fuck can you be non binary AND transgender?
Simple. When you trade in your capacity for developing a genuine personality, they give you an identity test. When filling it out, skip the "I wanna be special." box and the "I wanna be SUPER special!" box and check the "I WANNA BE SUPER AMAZO SPECIAL!" box.

Hooo boy do I have news for you....

Word from my colleagues across the aisle is that they are screaming at their employers to take it seriously and said employers-sincerely believe- the economy is going to bounce right back.
My guess is that TPTB truly are unprepared for a recession/Gotterdammerung level Depression and are through pure force of will "clap your hands to cast Revive on Tinkerbell to bring her back to life" magic, trying to keep the economy going as-is with no back-up plan.

Which makes me think that when the shit DOES hit the fan, it's going to make Weimer look like Romper Room and make the first right wing strongman that comes along saying he can fix shit so long as well let him hang the darkies, illegal spics, trannies, and feminists from the nearest tree look mighty tempting to the average joe who got his life destroyed by the lefties who pandered to those the strongman now wants to mass murder and said strongman promising no "half-measures" like Trump.

Little Joey's talking shit again. Typical. God protect our poor country.

Don't worry, Joey is already working to protect the world's greatest nation ever in the current era.

I tell people that we are the new Soviet Union. Think about it.

  • Jailing political opponents in witch trials
  • Spreading political ideology through destabilizing wars (and being terrible at it)
  • Redefinition of terms and events to fit the power structure
  • Problems that state media handwave away as conspiracy, problematic, or hyperpartisan
  • Indoctrination of children to follow regime lock step
  • If that doesn't work, destroy the family structure to make the government surrogate parents
Its the Soviet Union but with a Marvel and TikTok infused filter, sponsored by Coca-Cola, Pfizer, and Disney.

The core difference is the intent. The Soviets wanted to instill inhuman levels of dedication to the state, while globalhomo wants obedient n-cattle at any cost, even at societal collapse. You may say its similar, but Soviets atleast knew you needed some standards to keep things running and general appearance. Standards are problematic in the globalhomo plan, which creates further perpetuation of dumber and dumber people growing lazier and lazier until they just desire dopamine constantly with no faucet of work and cost preventing them from it. If it wasn't for the caption, I was wondering over why is white boy holding the stars and bars upside down.

And a lot of boomers keep on insisting that the Russians even now are commies while doing business with the CCP.

What's this I hear about a new infrastructure bill? I know about the chip one and guns, but I've heard there's some big climate bill they're talking about?

Again, how was this not a problem >60 years ago? Imagine if the mindset of parents back then were "rough winters and summers are coming, best not to have kids so as to not make them ensure such harsh weather or risk their death." We'd still have only 13 colonies...
Until around the late 1960s, having kids was less a feature but a bug in marriages. Until birth control became readily available and destigmatized, couples couldn't plan ahead for kids and either had to curb their sexual appetites for each other or fuck like rabbits and deal with multiple pregnancies in a row and a huge brood of kids who were a financial burden even with a dad making enough money for the mom to stay at home.

Plus there is the trauma/horror of being part of a large family: the parents might only have one favorite kid (usually the oldest) and everyone else is an unwanted child that would have been killed in the womb if abortion was legal. Hand me downs and general neglect and the knowledge that you would be on your own to buy your own first car or pay for college. And even then if you were the oldest, you were not off the hook as your parents will often shirk their actual parental duties and force the oldest kid(s) to actually do the raising of the younger kids because "fuck 'em, they need to pull their weight because daddy was too lazy to pull out in time and actually came in mommy's cunt".

If you want to make an argument why white people aren't fucking and producing 5-6 kids, shit like this is the reason. Birth control, abortion, and the fact that large families aren't all that great.

I remain confident that this will die in the Senate. Pretty sure they can’t scrape together 10 republicans to support it.

Then again, I could see RINO stupidity getting it to pass as part of some smoothbrained scheme to lure the democrats into a trap where they pass something poisonous, with the goal of recreating conditions to try and usher in a 2022 repeat of the Republican Revolution of 1994 (voters/constitution be damned), and hoping that SCOTUS will strike it down once and for all, citing NYSRPA v. Bruen.

I doubt even RINOs are that fucking dumb. Still, the only thing driving politicians is maintaining and expanding power, so…I wait with *some* anxiety.

Is Pelosi gets shot down.. mind you, I don't think that will happen, I think her plane gets turned around the minute China starts firing, but if she gets shot down.. the laugh.. the laugh will be glorious.
Especially since no one but the most deranged Democrats are going to give a fuck enough about Pelosi to demand war over her death. And the Biden admin has proven time and again it lacks the balls to do anything about China. There won't even be sanctions.

It would more or less be a consequence free kill for the Chinese.

Assuming its consumer facing, no - If they give you something for free, then you are the product. When other businesses are no longer interested in the product, they're fucking hosed. This is why I hold media is the bigger pin to fall. Food delivery and gig economy apps still deliver an actual service I pay people money for - they could raise prices to try and compensate, and retain some level of customers still. But when I am the product you are trying to sell to a third party, but I refuse to come to your site then your just fucked. You can't sell a product you don't have, and you can only fake it for a short period before someone catches on and pulls the plug.
Those gig economy type companies outsource the overhead costs to the contractor in order to keep prices down, and lo and behold, some office drone playing gypsy cab driver in the evening is not going to be as effective in running cost analysis as someone with a trained accounting team. I know very few people who did Uber or Lyft for more than a few months, and none that lasted more than two years (outside folks who used it to do shit like carpool strangers on their usual commutes). Eventually every gig contractor twigs on that when you account for gas, wear and tear on your vehicle, and lost personal opportunity costs, you're doing a high stress job for what is essentially minimum wage or less.

With gas prices rising, and the supply chain crisis hitting auto parts, I think those gig companies are going to have trouble finding new suckers to serve as contractors, in the same way Amazon is now having trouble finding warehouse employees. People are catching on to those tech companies money saving tactics.

I entered the job market during/post college in 2007/2008 and what I am seeing is a similarity without the mass layoffs. A bulk of the jobs are requiring too many bullet points for fresh meat to reach, but not enough incentive for people to swap jobs that meet the criteria. When the layoffs start coming, and they will, you will have fresh meat competing with people with masters degree's and 15 years experience for seemingly entry level jobs like I did.

It's sad that another generation will have to be beaten to death with disillusion and will usher in a millennial-esq apathy with zoomers. Shit sucks, oh well. Smoke 'em if you got 'em.
I blame the employer-college pipeline for that, or rather, the lack of communication in that pipeline. Employers should be treating colleges as certification farms, but college degrees aren't actually certifications of anything even in fiat.
I am not sure if we will see the layoffs. This may be different in that the boomers are starting to mass retire.

The boomers are the largest cohort, and they are very skilled in a lot of technical areas. But no one did adequate succession planning. The economy is looking at structurally 400,000 missing employees per year for the next half decade.

While the biggest cohort leaves, the smallest (gen z) is joining the workforce. We are heading into demographically unprecedented times.

This is probably going to work out differently than previous downturns. But employers may take a while to cotton onto the new reality. And immigration isn’t going to fill the gaps, other countries’ demographics are worse.

We are entering the aged world.

This is why I don't buy into the idea that China is on the verge of collapse. Assuming both are suffering from the same kind of population contraction, raw numbers determine who can endure more. China has over a billion people, so even if they contract down to just a billion, there's still a fuckton of them. Meanwhile, if America lost 3 million people, we have to seriously panic. That, and all the IP theft and international tech grads that China gets out of the US. Burgers keep thinking Chinese are a bunch of retarded illiterates. No, they're mean, selfish, and uncaring, not stupid.
I fucking hate philosophy majors. And that's coming from someone that likes to think about dumb philosophy stuff for fun. We need to make these 'okay but WHAT IS thinking and reasoning REALLY?' types homeless and impoverished, this shit shows they deserve to own nothing.
In ancient times, philosophers, like other citizens, were expected to fight for their societies. Japan in particular unified their philosophy with their martial arts which created a certain level of baseness in their religions that I don't see in modern philosophy. I'm sure some twat can argue how sensual data doesn't necessarily determine reality, but they don't like getting punched in the nose the same way as everyone else.
