• No ability to live independently of said transphobic parents

The best analogy I can think of would be something like if there is a black man who rapes and murders children but they protest calling him "nigger" because it still sets a bad precedent or something?

I imagine there are some post-op 'transwomen' without penises incapable of penis-raping a vagina who don't necessarily like being grouped in with pre-op "transwomen with penises" in terms of being equally deserving of pronoun pickiness.

That said, I can understand there are those who can't afford surgery (or who fear it's side effects) who don't want to feel "less than" those who do go ahead and get bottom surgery, in terms of deserving pronouns.

A greater question here is whether people should be acknowledged as trans merely because they declare it. Like with all these issues of men getting into prison claiming to be trans and then impregnating female inmates.

At some point you need to call shenanigans. Whether or not that applies to Chris I dunno, haven't studied enough.
