Better Call Saul

At this point I'm really starting to think the show should have ended with episode 9. Jimmy's gone, all that is left is Saul, just make a black and white scene showing that Gene is gonna spend the rest of his life looking over his shoulder, miserable, and pack it in. Give it the Shield treatment, where the series end on Gene going to a bar, and we see him about to start doing a scam on someone, leave it open ended.

This episode instead felt like a shell of this show. Saul's phone conversation was literally:

MEMBA HUEL?
MEMBA BILL BURR'S CAMEO?

followed by a lot of MEMBA WALT & JESSE?

It really feels like Vince Gilligan had no idea how to tie Saul's ending together, but felt like he had too. But he didn't.

It's a prequel. Breaking Bad is over. We know Saul is on the run and forced to man a Cinnabun til he dies. The whole point of the show was to see how Jimmy ended up becoming Saul, and we saw that with Kim's heartbreak speech.

We didn't more than that, really.

I also really hope it was the last of Kim we saw. Saul's heart being broken is a much better ending than them reuniting, whether they stay together or not. The whole 'Kim asked about me?!' thing made him sound so pathetic and lonely, yeah nigga she's talking to your mutual coworker after you disappear being a huge cog in a meth cartel of course she's gonna ask about you.

And yeah whoever said last week that there was no heat on Jimmy was proven a retard by this week's episode.

Can I just say this would be a retarded and gay way to end the show?

So Jimmy spends a year helping a meth Kingpin build his operation and kill countless people. Then goes into hiding somewhere in bumfuck Nebraska. Probably ends up on the FBI's most wanted list.

Is Kim really gonna want to go near him after that? 😪

Ha. Called it

To think it’s very likely that ole Slippin Jimmy will be brought down by a cancer patient......again.
LIKE POTTERY YOU SEE.jpg

Less filler. More discomfort. The pretend concern for the cancer patient by the patsy is a crock of shit. Gene-Saul is getting too cocky for me to take his schemes seriously.

Raspy Jesse is awkward as fuck tho

This would be way to clever for Vince Gilligan. A Sopranos or Shield style ending is far too sophisticated for the reddit mouthbreathing capeshit level crowd that BB and BCS seems to have been written for with both of the endings now. They need machine guns popping out of cars and Marvel level quotes like "YEAH BITCH!!!" so they can high five their friends and hand out internet points. Characters walking away from explosions over and over. And retarded dialog like "I'm the one who knocks" so fans can quote it at each other over and over like they are watching a comic movie about their favorite super hero.

BB and BCS will get fan service and crowd pleasing endings. It is just Vince Gilligan's style. No ambiguity or complicated endings. Just machine guns. Not even Jesse's ending in BB was acceptable and so El Camino was made which was a ridiculous story, with a horrendous use of guns, but fans overlooked any flaws. You are not meant to figure out anything yourself in BB or BCS. Just consume the basic story.

Saul is not all that is left though. There is still Kim. And there are still things that Jimmy can do to rehabilitate his image. Like admit to police that Howard was killed by Lalo and give his widow closure. Kim will probably push him into that when they reunite. Jimmy can still close a bunch of plot threads. Plus the moment where color returns to Gene's life is still going to happen. And everyone is predicting it will be Kim returning to his life as his lawyer in court once he is arrested. Just like everyone predicted that Walt would return to rescue Jesse. Kim will rescue Saul. Or at least try.

But it looks like people have predicted the ending pretty well. Gene is caught by police. Or by Marion turning him in. Gene will smash the windows of the house of a man who is dead from cancer. Police will show up because of Jeff lurking in his cab. They will find a house with a dead man and a broken window. And start canvassing heavily and likely will detain Jeff. Why Jimmy would break the glass of a house is beyond retarded and out of character. It just reeks of the writers needing to finish the story so they have Jimmy take massive risks and behave stupidly so he can finally get caught and can proceed to the trial phase of the final arc.

Gene goes down probably in the last minute of the next episode to draw out the commercial breaks as much as possible and squeeze another episode out. Last episode is Jimmy being exposed to the world, Kim is his lawyer, color returns, he gets some jail. I will shit on this show forever if this happens. I would be happy if Vince Gilligan proves me wrong and does a different ending. I would rather see an incredible ending than what we are leading to apparently.
I also really hope it was the last of Kim we saw. Saul's heart being broken is a much better ending than them reuniting.
Zero chance. Walt and Jesse reunited in BB at the end. Kim and Jimmy will reunite. Vince Gillian has his formula. I cannot see anything else.
And yeah whoever said last week that there was no heat on Jimmy was proven a retard by this week's episode.
People forget that Walt and Jesse were wanted for way more than the meth. The bomb in the retirement home, dead and missing DEA agents, Madrigal corruption, cartel connections to human trafficking and gun running in addition to drugs, their connections to money laundering as well, if Walt and Hank were possibly working together must be something the DEA considered, or if Gus was involved in the DEA more than just donating chicken dinners. The DEA office in ABQ has a lot to answer for. Jimmy would likely be in the top 10 for the FBI and DEA for literally several decades. So would Jesse.

That new ep was excellent. Nippy is a 7/10 now. Took notes as I watched

Those druggies were so annoying but it’s great to see Franny again and get some updates on how Saul keeps tabs on his old life. Him thinking Bill is gay was funny

While Pat Healy is Jeff wasnt very good in Nippy when he had to embody the role of antagonist that Don Harvey played so well I loved him as an accomplice of Saul. Such a great place to take the character

Theyve really brought back the charm of the early seasons scam where youre slowly trying to figure out what his plan is as you watch it

I have to say tho I had a fireworks factory moment when I realized they wouldnt get to Florida until the next episode about half an hour in when Buddy was photographing the IDs, due to the slow pacing of it and because the next episode is called Waterworks implying both tears and Florida being a state near the ocean. As much as I’ve loved BCS’s slow pace they couldve done the events of this and Nippy in the same ep which is a very season six thing

Oh god Aaron Paul looks SO ooooold. Cranston is about the same but Paul is particularly rough. It’s not like he’s a bad looking guy you can just tell he’s in his middle age and not 20 any more

Great shot of the desert bed. Liked how they slotted everything together with Jesse asking about Lalo and Saul calling him “nobody”. Also cool how this showcases how much Lalo’s reputation has evaporated into a ghost. He’s been figuratively and literally buried and usurped by Gus’ empire

He’s fully returned to Slippin’ Jimmy at this point. Knew he couldnt resist. Tho it’s interesting to note he starts Slippin’ and hiring whores after he cant get a hold of Kim ala the ninth episode where it’s revealed as a coping mechanism

And he really does start Breaking Bad here. Down to hiding his cash like Walt does. Then giving the burners

I was expecting Gene to fuck up the plan by saying “stop, he has cancer” but it’s Gene whos the bad influence and Buddy has the heart. Both actions corrupt Jimmy’s personas. The school with Saul and the man’s house with Gene
AMC and Vinge Gilligan are at fault for this. They had the actor contracted for BCS for multiple seasons around a specific shooting schedule. They they kept delaying his season six shooting scenes, over and over, to the point where they then conflicted with his HBO schedule. He had his scheduled cleared for his BCS scenes over a year ago but AMC delayed it for an entire year putting them in conflict with HBO. Why did they delay so much? Could be COVID, rewrites, Odenkirk's heart attack. Do not really care.

The actor and HBO told AMC that they would need to wait for him to shoot his HBO work and then he would do BCS right after. AMC decided that they could not wait anymore and recast and rewrote the part. Though they denied the rewrite, it is extremely obvious that they are not the same character. And that the part was clearly rewritten. The new actor was mediocre. They built Jeff up, across an entire season even, like the White Walkers from Game of Thrones and turned it into nothing in the end. Arya with her dagger and Gene with a shopping spree.
Is this a satire? Do you really think Jeff was going to be this big bad Game of Thrones villain and then obviously they rewrote the part. Because as we all know autistic cab drivers make great villains for Saul Goodman

Go back to reddit, dude. The Jeff actor was pretty weak in his first ep, because the other actor could just play two parts at once and play them better, but now we know where they were going with it it’s turned out great. Imagine thinking there would be some epic faceoff finale for a character based show like BCS. Absolute brainlet take

You contradict yourself with every post. Before Nippy came out you were like “Kim will be in Nebraska and Vince Gilligan will give us an epic fanservice capeshit ending” and post-Nippy you’re sneeding that “WHAT?! VINCE PROMISED JEFF WILL BE EPIC THANOS VILLAIN?! UNBRAVO!” If Better Call Saul actually does a real ending and not the supposedly superior route of cutting to black then fifteen years later making a prequel worshipping niggers, you’ll complain that it’s giving the audience what they want and isn’t reaaaaal aaaaart maaaaaan. Then if they do an experimental character based episode focused entirely on a scam you get mad there’s no epic action payoff for Jeff where Jimmy kills him with a revolver then sucks on Kim’s feet and dies

At this point I'm really starting to think the show should have ended with episode 9. You dont need to watch the rest of the eps tho. I get your point, youre not wrong, I dont think they needed to make a storyline out of the Gene segments even if I enjoy them. I feel like Gene’s fate to just sit at home alone paranoid was a fitting end only comparable to maybe death or prison. However, this is basically an epilogue for those curious as to what he’ll do

I wouldnt say the Huell and Kuby stuff was just for fanservice. It was to show how isolated Saul is and how he picks Jeff and Buddy to be his new crew. With the Walt and Jesse stuff used to draw a parallel with how Jimmy/Gene is his own worst enemy

This is a good way to build hype lol

That was an angry phone call, wonder if he resumed his criminal activities to help Kim, maybe she has cancer.

I still can't believe that they got Buzz to play the asshole at the bar.

there's a reason no one wants to watch a show written by you, film film edgy newbie. no one is forcing you to watch the eps 12 & 13 but i know you will, like a bitch

The final scene of this episode pretty much guarantees no happy ending imo. Not even a semi-happy ending. This is pretty obvious — Saul walks into that high school precipitating his downfall, Gene breaks into that house and seals his fate.

I think he will end up in prison. Ends with montage of Jimmy as a jailhouse lawyer with the full title theme playing. Then again, most of my predictions for this season have been totally off.
also, I just realized that there might not be jailhouse lawyers in pound-me-in-the-ass prison, at that point what need would they have for one? Their cases have already been adjudicated

You are giving Vince Gilligan way too much credit. Just like Walt dies, so too Saul dies. It's pottery, you see? Walt was killed by white supremacists because of his hubris and how he just couldn't stop, and now Saul will be killed because of his hubris and how he just couldn't stop.

How? Either by Jeff or Jeff's mother in a 'WHOA ITS LIKE WHEN THAT GAY GUY FROM THE WIRE GOT GOT!' moment. Kim will be the last thing he sees as color returns to BCS.

Vince "MASTER OF HINTS" Gilligan spelled it out in the last episode by telling us that Jeff's cab is number 357 (magnum 357 get it??) and Kim works at Florida Sprinklers (lots of tears, you see!)

I'm still thinking that basically Jeff gets caught and is risking serious time, Jeff's mother figures out that it's Gene's fault. Maybe he tells Jeff to shut up and says to his mother 'I used to be a lawyer, her'es how we get him out of that jam' etc.. some hijinks happen and last scene you'll hear the faint humming of her chair in the background before he gets popped waiting to be reunited with Kim. It would justify hiring Carol Burnett as an actress instead of a nobody, basically.

Anyway, it might go down differently, but overall Saul's end will be shot & killed by either Jeff or his mom, and Kim will be crying over him (most likely as the show gets its colors back).

In the show it was, and yes it was reminiscent of Walt in his cabin up north etc etc.. but as far as the show goes, it was entirely fanservice. They didn't have to make Gene ask, as she said 'You have the internet up there', and the scenes from Breaking Bad era were also entirely fanservice that didn't in any way advance the story of Saul except to make the ending more pottery.

Don't you have a street to shit on?

At this point I'm expecting prison and it ends with Kim visiting him without much in the way of anything being spoken between the two

Unless he's arrested in Florida, and Kim has a license to practice law in Florida, that's fucking stupid and isn't happening.

AND THEN THE COLOR COMES BACK!!!!!!!!!

Walt was a dead man anyways and he intended to go into the Aryan base and kill himself, the Aryans, and Jesse, nut decided to save Jesse when he realized he was being forced. He also died on his own terms and beat the DEA/law.
Saul's chatacter would not make sense dying so I'm guessing he might face the law one final time.

Are you an idiot? You can represent your self pro se in any courtroom in the US. Kim would be right next to him as an adviser the entire time. They can easily write this ending. You do not need to be a lawyer to represent yourself in a criminal case. Jimmy and Kim will know this. Even if the morons fans will not.
