[07/28/22 - 07/31/22] Anime Matsuri 2022 - Vic Mignogna's Return to Anime; HOES MAD

I believe that Kathryn Two-Ton is really fat and that more or less obviates any opinions she has. It is impossible to take the opinion of anyone this fat seriously.
She immediately jumps to the LOL NO RIGHTS! when the Occam's answer is that Matsuri doesn't have the infrastructure ready for digital and/or physical releases.

Any way to tell if attendance was up or down from prior years?

Just curious because I saw some tweets from the KickVic side of the aisle about how the people running the con have wildly overstated attendance in prior years.

FWIW, I'm certainly not seeing anything Anime Matsuri related like the hotels already selling out for next year (2023), as with Otakon.

The hotel block is now open...the best rooms are going fast so don’t delay

Yet IIRC Anime Matsuri claims to have more attendees. At least, I think they do.

Seems weird to me that people do this without even knowing the programming, but not being a Weeb a lot of what these people do seems weird to me. 🤷‍♂️

Given that it's usually the place that sells the tickets to give out the numbers it's hard to lie about them. Best way to know a convention is lying about their numbers is to check and see what they've rented out in terms of floor space/ attendance and what actually show up. If it's higher and the Fire department didn't show up then there's something up with the numbers.

You have to look closely at how the con reports their numbers. Some will count tickets sold and some report "turnstiles". Say, you purchase a 3 day pass, ticket count would count that at one, where turnstiles would count that for each day of the con. So, a 4 day con would count that 4 times. I may be off on some of the industry terminology, but the idea is the same. Most of the largest conventions count turnstiles.

Vic's Saturday panel is up.

Finally!
- The beginning is as boomered as one of Nick's streams.
- The red jacket is supposed to be Edward Elric's (the symbol is on the back).
- Vic's mom is there.
- Jeff Johnson makes an appearance.
- Vic is making a songbook.
- Not too much talk about the two anime features.
- Did not hear Spirit Junior in this footage (always a plus).
Speaking of Vic,

You can see Stan Dahlin sitting with Tiffany Volmer.

EDIT:
Ministry of Otaku uploaded his version of Vic's Friday panel:
And Gator uploaded his version of the Saturday Panel:

In other news, @TheCosmicWarrior is getting into a slapfight with Amouranth over Anime Matsuri and her claims of being groomed by John Leigh:

I only was there for a day this year, same as last year. But they seem about the same granted I didn’t exactly count all the people both times. Lines for food felt the same outside for food trucks—busy, Vic’s line was very long early in the morning. Decent crowd for some dude shredding his guitar—that was cool. The FNT Youtuber panel was packed. And a very good sized crowd in the merchandise areas and artists alley. But I wasn’t really counting on numbers so I can’t compare accurately. Just “Hey how cool is it covid didn’t chase this huge crowd” last year and “hey cool look at how many people showed up again” this year.

I can’t tell you if it was down, up, or the same compared to last year. I can only tell you from Saturday last year and Saturday this year felt about the same in terms of crowd and me and my friends had a lot of fun. From what I saw around me everyone else seemed to be enjoying themselves a lot too.

Also they had this ice cream food truck and that shit was delicious.

A small channel uploaded a highlight of one of Nick’s locals stream talking about Amouranth.
The surprising part is that she also found this video and commented on it. It only has 3k views so I’m surprised she found it. Nick also replied to her.

Edit: I’m a retard and just realized that the title tags Amouranth by having @ next to her name. So she was notified about the video

I missed the Sunday panel but I did manage to get in Vic's line early enough to get something for him to sign. While I was waiting for my turn, I saw a woman with a male friend of hers go up to Vic and she nearly fainted in his presence. It was really interesting to witness in person because I've only seen it in videos at this point. When I finally got to his table I greeted him and mentioned that I saw him last year and he told me that he was happy to see me again. Also he complimented the Sonic shirt I had on that day (which I didn't expect at all).

I chose one of the albums he mentioned in one of the stories he told at the panel and man I didn't realize how well produced it is. I don't know if people have really talked about his vocals much but, got damn he can SANG.

"If These Walls Could Talk", was such and interesting experience to listen to on my drive back home. I looked at the credits of the album and it says it was produced in 1991? It sounds pretty ahead of it's time in some areas but I can tell by the synths used it's accurate for the time period it was made in.

Speaking of which, here is Ministry of Otaku's upload of the Sunday Panel:
If footage of the Premiere Q&A Panels pop-up, then the major parts of Anime Matsuri will be covered here.
EDIT: Ugh.... Spirit Junior is in this one.
"I'll send in my demo reel." Oh, please don't. you'll only feed his ego.
Ok, Vic said he didn't know what the distribution plans were.

Hope this doesn't dox me too hard, but I went to that Mexican place (P-something Pappasito's) that is connected to the Hilton on Saturday night. I went alone :(
That night no less than 4 people had birthdays and therefore that inane ritual I hate where the servers clap and sing.

On the first occurrence, I was dilating and seething, and I looked up and around to see who else was just as negative and petty as me - and what did I see?

Vic Mignogna at the head of a table clapping away like a retarded child. He was so happy to help celebrate some stranger's birthday.

I felt a strong acute twinge of guilt.

He was just as excited for the next 3, if not moreso. He was just with friends - his mother, Stan Dahlin I THINK, Jeff Johnson, and about 5 other people: no one to impress.

The world doesn't deserve faggot pants.

I also have a tour of the con that I can upload if anyone cares to see another one.
Another edit: I am still traveling home from Houston so I might have more to share if I can sit down and sift through it.

The funniest thing about the whole situation is just how much her audience does not care.

It is by far one of her least popular videos. Unless her convention is just her on a stripper pole or in front of a giant mirror, none of her fans are coming. She must know they don't give a shit what she has to say or think, right?
